I dislike disharmony and discord amongst the housemates* as much as the next man, but the last two nights of BB has been unmissable. Much better than watching boring romances form, faux or otherwise. Bring it on BB. Jason or Andy for the win.

*Not really, I LOVE IT!

BB have hit it climax. It will be downhill from Friday.

TBH watching this makes me think the US big brother might be a good idea and then the public vote for their winner..

I'm also finding this series very enjoyable. Which reminds me of that saying (if I could remember it properly) concerning putting monkeys and typewriters in the same room.

It's certainly been a better week than I thought it would be. They should have kept rich and poor apart, as the poor side usually bond more it would have made next weeks nominations interesting. Now it will be Jason and Andy nominated by everyone.

I suspect it will go downhill after tonight. Alex and Evelyn will be ramping it up and I hate hate showmances.

I'm not sure whether it was their plan or not, but Big Brother have done something really good with a modern BB contestant. They've forced them into having to drop their 'performance' and acknowledge that they're in a gameshow. Add to that the fun they've given the audience outside of the broadcast itself. I've loved all the threads this week where we've been pouring over clues trying to work out who's gone. We've never ever had that before, it's been like a whodunnit! Even people who hate the show in the channel 5 era (and still do!) have been drawn into the investigation! Gorgeous! Its been a lot of fun. And nobodies died!

The game really has changed, despite all of us being a bit snarky about that statement a few weeks ago.

So credit where it's due BB you've pulled a blinder and earned the ratings increase, social media explosion and news coverage it's given you. I think Annihalation Week has earned its place in Big Brother legend, which is pretty impressive during the 17th year of a show.

DONT do it again though! PLEASE! This has to be a one off or its just diminishing returns.

Yeah, Annihilation week has been kind of like BB US format. It's strategic, HMs have the power. I'm also glad that we have three queen bee characters of the clique gone within 3 weeks. Bless.
who, me?

I agree. I was one of the vehement naysayers at the beginning of the series but it's gradually drawn me in. Annihilation Week has been superb. For me, it's because it's forced the housemates into becoming strategists and also because we get to see them equally around a table thrashing things out. The surprise factor has also been excellent. I think once ethics/morals are introduced, it all becomes fascinating. And I like the way the 'crisis' has really brought out the best in characters like Evelyn.

I'm liking it too. I have to confess that when I first heard about annihilation week I was concerned especially after the way Chelsea was evicted as it seemed very harsh. But since they have added a competition element to it IMO it is much better and I am enjoying it.

When the twist started, a LOT hated it, we thought it would be a damp squid.
Of course, we are still against those no public voting, BUT this week really has "shook the house". They keep saying "shake the house" but twists always flop. This is the only time the house actually did get "shook".

The buzz in the last 3 days has been huge, which has reflected in the ratings too.

It's not just the unexpected eviction of Lateysha, but so many things:

a) The emergence of Jason as one of the best gameplayers in BBUK. I honestly don't think anything as ruthless has been done in years and years. He played the game fantastically. He made the most out of an oppotunity which would have NEVER have arisen in normal circumstances. Him nominating (and Andy) would be unlikely to have Lateysha up for eviction, and even if she was, she wouldn't go. His ruthlessness has secured himself a place as the best gameplayer there. Someone who isn't afraid.

b) The Sudden Appearance of Evelyn. She has really come into her own this last week. She is gaining fans everywhere for calling on Jackson's bull.

c) The punishments. We haven't had slop in a while. I also like they have removed bedding too. Glad they stopped with the "no hot water" bull.

d) The 2 biggest "team players" taking the money. Even though I have nothing bad to say about taking the cash, but the fact the two people who said they never would take it, taking it was funny and hypocritical.

e) The "How on earth have they kept this under wraps?", Lateysha's eviction was probably one of the best kept secrets. Sure, we all had our assumptions, but the fact we never officially found out until the show is very impressive.

f) The "How on Earth has Jayne survived?", she's like a cat with 19 lives, never mind 9.

Was just about to take offence at your statement about jason being the best game player - Aaron??? - but then saw you'd actually said "one of the best". Fair comment.

I remember that. I think it ends with "One of them will eventually write Last Train To Clarksville."

I have loved it!! If it was to continue in this vein, we might get to see a more varied range of contestants. The last few years have all been full of young wannabes, I'd love to see more strategic play and villainy

Yeah, it's going to be almost impossible to top or even equal this week.
I only wish they'd saved this week until the penultimate week,

For me, this week has taken me right back to the glory days of BB, and that is pretty amazing for a show that is now 17 years old.
It's been such fun watching the shocks, the twists and turns, the lies and gobsmacking hypocrisy, the ridiculous arguments, hm's being found out/called out and watching them squirm trying to think of a way of backtracking their way out of it.

A big thumbs up to the BB production team for setting this up and to the hm's for delivering the goods and giving us some classic BB.

Aaron's my favourite housemate of all time. And yes 'one of'. However I don't think Aaron did something as ruthless as what Jason did tbh

2 days out of over 30 is nowhere near enough.

It was fizzling out long before the Lateysha eviction, as always it was the good start then started to fall away due to the inevitable shedload of interference, and the being cut short announcement didn't really help

Ok fair do's they managed to stop Lateysha's eviction slipping out and it was a genuine shock for them and a really good episode all round

But as far as a classic series, hell no, and definitely nowhere near the classics Channel 4 gave us

Mid table at best, neither good nor bad and remembered for just one or two moments

Too much interference to engineer arguments, the usual outside info, childish/recycled tasks coupled with the focus on showmances and the general lack of live feed

And if this is to be the final civilian series, I think they want to send it out with a bang

Well I've really loved it the past few days. It's felt different somehow.

I'm thinking the new bosses this series. Have watched back some of the classic channel 4 BB's. And injected some of that into this series.

It does have some of the old BB magic and feel running through it at last.

The rot set in long before the move to Channel 5. Most of that was true as early as BB7.

Same here Scarlett. Now it really would make my day if Jason and Andy survived until the final, even if just to piss most of the others off.
