When I was a poor teenager my friend and I used to go to a small cafe and have battered spam and chips. It was lovely and only cost 1/6d.

Spam's basic ingredients are pork shoulder meat, with ham meat added, salt, water, modified potato starch as a binder, sugar, and sodium nitrite as a preservative. Natural gelatin forms during cooking in its tins on the production line.

Spam and instant mash, yes please.

Doesnt sound the worst, its mostly meat! Thought BB basic rations were meat free previously but nutritionally verifed as ok for a short period - pulses etc. Any vegans in the poor house?

If it came in a burger bun and a branded box, they would be queuing for it.

Spiced ham - love it and often buy it to remind me of war time rations.

That lot should be grateful that Jason is still there to produce something for them to eat, from their reaction to the Spam and packet mash (even Jayne which l find hard to believe)
They would still be standing around, grunting not knowing what to do with it, let alone know how to get it out of the tin.

You were lucky, when I was younger my Mum used to give us battered spam, spam, spam, eggs and chips, but without the eggs or spam, that was a luxury in my house!

Mind you I was much posher because we called them spam fritters.

Bunch of softies. And it was only for a few hours too. I'd like to see them after a few days of it.
