Any ideas on the cheapest Cat6 LTE Android phone? For tethering use of course.

Well the cheapest I found which are officially sold in Europe are the Galaxy A5 (2016) and the Nexus 5X.

Both at around 250 quid on Ebay.

Or maybe one of the older flagships like the HTC One M9 or the LG G4

I believe it means the phone supports higher max speeds when using 4G, Cat 4 for instance supports 150Mbps/50mbps.

I was personally underwhelmed by the phone. Whilst it had some great features, such as a good battery life, it was let down by its poor performance. For example Spotify occasionally stuttered when I browsed or did anything on the phone, which none of my my Moto G's have ever done. Not sure if it was a faulty device or what, but definitely a shame, as I really wanted to like it.

Good to hear, I must've have had a bad one . Might attempt to get another as the battery life was perfect and most bits on the phone were great.

I used one for a while and thought similar to you. It almost felt as if it was running on 512MB RAM with the stuttering and occasional short freeze when doing things. I was surprised to see it had 2GB RAM when I read the specs.

Glad to hear it wasn't just me

I reckon it's that EMUI that's bogs it down, that or is badly optimised software. Even my old old Moto G 1st Gen is better and that only had 1GB RAM and it's 2 years old!

I did try out other launchers but noticed similar lag, maybe I'm fussy.

Went back to my 3rd Gen G, back to normality

Not in the launcher, I'm meaning when opening an app, or while browsing, it would hang for a split second as if it was struggling to process. A bit like using an older phone without enough ram. Having TuneIn or music playing while doing something else and the music stutters for a few seconds. Again, as if it didn't have the power to keep everything smooth..

Not seeing any of the problems you had.
I am extremely happy with my purchase of this phone.

I'm not disputing your top trumps, just recounting the way the phone acted when I used it for a while...

Best buy is still the Nexus 5x at £170 new.

Rather than paying too much heed to opinions here for anything, Amazon verified buyer reviews may be a better bet.
