Ahead of tonight's transmission, we were told that Kylie's death would be a "soap first". We have seen soap characters stabbed to death in the past- it's not even a first for Corrie (Brian Tilsley back in 1989). Whilst I thought tonight's first instalment was decent (I could even tolerate the tedious Caz), the nature of Kylie's demise was nothing new. The show made a monumental mistake by revealing that Kylie would die as tonight's scenes really would have been jaw-dropping if we didn't know about it in advance.

So disappointed after all the build up.

The producers are going to be disappointed if they think people will be shocked. I'm not. No different to any other soap stabbing.

I'd like to think so, but I reckon we'll just see her die in David's arms. I'm not saying that it's a poor exit for the character, but this would have had so much more impact if bloody Corrie had just kept it a secret.

I'm really surprised that Kate Oates let this be spoiled, or would she have had any say in this?

Exactly. If that had been kept under wraps the impact would have been phenomenal

Such a huge disservice to one of the show's most popular characters. Corrie really couldn't get much worse.

ITV's press team leaked the info early, not Corrie.

Frankly I would worry about the soap's future. Six weekly episodes, unimaginative scriptwriters and storyline planners, cast in dire need of freshening up....................in ITV's hands, who knows what will happen? Profits over quality.

Load of old shite. Thought it was supposed to be a soap first, but it was almost identical to the death of Brian Tilsley years ago.

It is nothing like Brian tilsleys death other than they both got unexpectedly stabbed

I'm surprised she's being killed off. Sure it will be one of those regretted soap deaths

The way she was killed was so lame and there was not enough suspense.
However, the protracted dying scene was executed very well, but the ambulance took far too long in arriving.

If the ambulance had come sooner you wouldn't have had the scene you said was executed so well!)

Exactly my point in another thread.

Maybe the lengthy chatting while laying stabbed was a soap first!

maybe it doesn't matter if it was a soap first, or that she was stabbed or even that we knew she was going to die.

what we got was an hr (less ads) of brilliant tv, I was shocked at Kylie being stabbed like that even tho I expected it, it was unexpected and shocking to watch, the dying scenes were exceptional, Gail was on point even her funny line about having competition on worst conversations

but that last scene just broke me

round of applause corrie

Similar to the lengthy chat when that guy on neighbours (I don't know the name) was killed in the lassiters explosion.
