Michelle's letter to Peggy was obviously her revealing that Mark Jr is Grant's son.

So with Sharon flying to Florida I've got a feeling that she will not return alone and I can imagine that she doesn't come back until Grant has already returned.

Why else would Sharon go to Florida? She's obviously going to return with Mark Jr in tow.

Maybe Sharon just wanted to go to the wizarding world of Harry Potter?

They are making out its a short trip but I don't think she returns in the next two weeks.

.
But in the world of soap two weeks could actually just cover two or three days! I know there's been speculation about the secret of mark's parentage being revealed for years but up have it kick off with Michelle writing to Peggy? Really?

That was ludicrous. It would have made more sense if MJ had been the one who as trying to find his real father.

think is are we supposed to think mark jr knows at this point? if he does he has no interest in finding daddy.. if he doesn't why is it happening off screen its a large part of the drama.

same for sharon finding out and the fall out, we get a non caring sharon telling linda, a bit passive aggressive in her leaving scene then she is going to return all happy with the boy as part of the family

so we actually get non of the drama with the known characters. as I have said before for thos viewers not watching 20yrs ago they get two unknown random characters come in and have a your my dad storyline for one to leave one to two werks after

So this is Michelle and grants child, then to me it would be ridiculous if sharon bought him back he's nothing to do with her.

I could understand if grant came back with him but not sharon

Sharon is Michelle's best friend, she lived in Florida for quite awhile so presumably knows Mark Jr extremely well.

It's looking likely, however, DTC to have come up with this at a time of instability between the change over of EP's will ultimately prove to be a mistake I think. I really hope they don't make a complete mess of the Fowler/Mitchell secret.

Considering the mess they made of Gavin/Kathy I can imagine this will be equally underwhelming. Hope I'm wrong and Sock has his toes all over it to turn it round!

Yes maybe but would you want anything to do with your best friend after finding she had a son with your hubby and had kept it secret for 20yrs.

Even more so would you want anything to do with the child

She is also no longet married to grant so after cutting off ties and givig her ex best friend what for it has nothing to do with her.

Thats why none of this storyline works and why it was best left as soaps best kept secret

Doesn't mean she can just go and steal her child forcing him back, it obvs won't be spun like that but surely she would be like I want you to come back to albert square, your father's not there but that's irrelevant

Sharon is very forgiving these days! Maybe she should become Walford's first Zen Buddhist. When she returns and finds Kathy/Shirley/Denise at it with Phil she can just shut her eyes and chant as she leaves the room. Ommmmmmmmm...

Mark is a Fowler. One quick shag doesn't mean the Mitchell's have any sort of claim to him. He has Fowler and Beale relatives on the square, people he knows well. I'm disappointed that once again ma Mitchell is going to be centre stage in a s/l, one that should have been big, one that would have been better given to Martin, the boys uncle. hasn't Sharon got a son she ought to be looking after.

If she does, then what a nasty bitch. Going over there and tarring this boys life apart. He'd believe his dad in America is his biologically and Sharron is just gonna blow in and destroy that? There'd be nothing more selfish.

Especially to destroy his happy family life (Vicky's words) for the sake of scummy Mitchell's? Oh dear... I can't believe Sharron was my Favorite character back in her time in the mid 00's. She isn't that character anymore and I completely hate this feeble, selfish impostor. They've ruined her the way they ruined Kat. I can't imagine how they manage to ruin such amazing characters.

In terms of fantasy casting, Tyger Drew-Honey could play Jr.

The whole storyline is ridiculous.

Anyone who thinks Michelle would freely volunteer the fact she'd had Grant's son does not know the character at all. I don't even believe she would've told Martin, which she apparently did years ago. But that's a smidgeon more believable than her telling Peggy is!

After starting her new life in America, I don't believe she would ever have brought up the subject again. If the son knew he wasn't her American husband's and asked about his real father, she would've made up a pack of lies or stubbornly refused to give out any info (as she did when everyone was asking her about Vicky's father), anything to stop the truth coming out.

The one person we saw her confide in was Mark and that made sense as the two developed a close bond when Mark was played by Todd Carty.

With Grant only back for a few weeks and Michelle not coming back at all, there is really no point in revealing this. It's just DTC ticking another box

I would mind less if he was doing a good job of handling these loose ends but he isn't. Sharon's non-reaction to Phil's involvement in Dennis's death was ridiculous, and he also wasted the potential in Phil ever catching up with Marcus Christie after he ripped off the Mitchell family in 2004. Marcus casually having a drink with and chatting to Sharon in The Albert in broad daylight was ridiculous.

If you're not going to handle these things appropriately, don't touch them at all. All he is doing is diminishing the show. It's not even like the Mitchells need this material. The family is plentiful in number and has been heavily/over used for a year. Grant already had a storyline to come back to i.e. the feud with Phil over money that was teased when he last showed up. As well as his unresolved feelings for Sharon. This is overkill.

Couldn't agree more! This kind of dabbling in the past doesn't do anything for the show as it's always done so half heartedly and it screws things up for future producers who maybe want to explore it as a proper storyline. I still can't understand the character assassination of Lisa to give Phil an identikit version of Lola.
