Marco can talk about endless coke but Ryan can't mention valium?

Valium's a legal, prescribed (if controlled) medicine and 100 000s of thousands of pounds of cocaine certainly is not.

Why was Marco allowed to mention the coke but Ryan couldn't mention the former?

Is it, perchance, because they get prescribed valium for 'stress' and sleep etc by the BB house doctor while they're in there? I'm pretty sure (imvho) Marco had access to some sort of uppers in his time in the house...

The year Heidi Fleiss was in she certainly had access to a really strong sedative. She started out pretty normal and got worse each day to the point she was practically a zombie as the weeks went on. Her facial muscles had even drooped from whatever it was and she looked an absolute mess.

Any wonder they're all so keen to stay in, if they're getting free drugs

Jason was prescribed uppers but the Charlie gave him side effects

When did he mention Valium I missed that?

Wouldn't surprise me they'd have some kind of shady UnReal-esq doctor handing out meds.

In his exit interview with Emma he mentioned that he felt like he'd taken ten 'vallies' (I think he called it) and then said something like 'oops I shouldn't have said that should I?' and Emma said 'no'.

Private doctors. Get the 'right' one and you can get what you like. The Beatles wrote a song about that kind of thing.

I just watched that again and it was definitely strange.

It was only strange if you are looking for a conspiracy theory. He just admitted to taking valium on live TV and thought he perhaps shouldn't have.

Yep, 'oopsie' imo.

I'm thinking whatever Marco had he smuggled in himself or was given favours by mates on production, but routine medicating of HMs by a production Doctor (which has been pretty clear for years now imvho) is not the best news to be revealed about the show...

I think it was because Ryan said it in an interview whereas Marco openly discussed inside and outside the house. Not to Emma. In fact Marco didn't get a chance to get a proper interview .

You can't admit to using prescription medications on TV, but it's OK to talk about blowing hundreds of thousands of pounds on cocaine?

That's probably where they got their name. According to Wiki it's a slang term for heroin or an 'obliging' doctor.

The Beatles song was Dr Robert from the album Revolver when they were getting really heavily into drugs:

Was it before or after she'd just suggested he should try thinking before he speaks?

Ryan made a joke about feeling like he was on 10 vallies. I'm not sure what people are struggling to understand here.

What was strange? Ryan clearly isn't very bright and he said something he shouldn't have.

Well its not really news thats been revealed, is it? Its just something you've decided is happening.

Because they have young and impressionable viewers so Ryan shouldn't be saying that as if it's cool.

But spending a quarter of a million of daddy's pounds on hookers, cocaine and alcohol being highlighted is? As is repeatedly taking a girl's knickers down (with her consent) and playing with her lady bits for the cameras, that's OK? Dodgy sex games that have caused more than one celebrity death (supposedly)?

I'm just trying to work out what the standards are here. I don't think production have any, but am trying to fathom some people on this forum.

Imo Ryan was shut up (and basically shut himself up first) either because:

1) There is a doctor on set who might prescribe doses of meds that the NHS generally wouldn't ever, just to get the HMs through (which we've had heavy hints of in the past), and it's in their contract not to mention that.

2) Ryan was talking about abuse of a controlled prescribed medicine, which is in no way good, but not comparable in my book to bragging about piles of cocaine (which is most certainly not a prescription medication). And that was the whole set up for Marco in the first week or so, wasn't it? Drug-addled masochist sex fiend? How on earth Emma would know what meds each HMs take each day is beyond me...

3) BB just don't want HMs to talk about their prescriptions for mental health problems.

I would buy 1) or 3) but never 2). And none of them look good for BB imvho.

Too many to list. The last one I remember was that Megan girl on the last (?) CBB where she was given a sedative of some kind after going nuts in the diary room and attacking the camera etc. I'm not sure if they said it at the time or she said it after coming out, but it's on record (or was, so much gets scrubbed from the internet these days). Just one of numerous examples.

can they mention brand names? Valium is a brand name for diazepam (generic name). However if he just said a slang word "vallies" then IDK.

Either they don't want to give away that they have people prescribing meds within the house (logical given the Marco convos and Jackson describing snorting coke off a restroom floor) or Emma just really didn't want to have to say "Other mood stabilizers are available"

Marco didn't mention it in his interview with Emma, Jackson although a berk, I doubt will either, it takes a special kind of idiot to bring up drug taking in your eviction interview
