I stupidly bleached my hair blonde last November and I've finally had it re- dyed after it went into a horrible yellow brassy mess. I had it dyed dark brown, a few shades lighter than my natural colour, it's ok, a lot better than what was there!, but there's a couple of things I'm wondering about:

Why does it look coppery/auburn under artificial light and what can I do about it?

It looks a bit 'artificial' to me, so I'm going to wash it to try and fade it in a bit, but I'm worried it will fade to a reddish/ orangey shade now

Finally, just out of curiosity, I know you can have dye stripped out of your hair, if I did this would it go back to my natural colour, or back to the bleach blonde it was?

I really want my own natural colour back but my hair is really long so it will take ages to grow back out, and I'm just trying to think of the best thing to do in the meantime.

Use Colour b4. I had to use it, as my hair went a horrendous gingery colour. It will strip away the dyes, but as your hair has been effectively bleached, it won't be your natural colour. However, once the crap has been removed from your hair, you have a clean (somewhat) canvas to work from.
I now use Lush henna, to try and undo the damage done to my hair.

did you have the colour done in a salon or did you do it yourself?

if it was in a salon go back and say you are really sorry but you are not happy with the colour and could they rectify it please and just explain its a different colour in the light

most salons would only be more than happy to help out - I know my hair salon would - they would rather I went back and told them I wasnt happy than to not be happy

if that makes sense!

It's better to consult with your hairdresser. Go to a beauty salon 'cause you can spoil everything if you do smth at home. For instance, I have blonde hair extensions and I always attend beauty salon, I don't want to have artificial color.
