I think you're making a very good point.
Too many housemates more and more seem to think that to play the game you have to conform to their way of playing. You're supposed to pick off the 'weak' contestants because there's an unspoken agreement and it makes it easier for the group. You have to play it their way and pretend that you're one big happy family, even if you don't fully subscribe to the idea and are doing it with a smile on your face through gritted teeth.
Housemates like Jason reassure people that you can play the game according to what you believe and your own principles as an individual, rightly or wrongly. It makes it not so easy for people in a majority group to sail through the game picking off individuals as part of a larger group. It acts as a leveler and reminds everyone that they are not as safe as they think they are. It helps work against housemates taking the path of least resistance and pokes a finger in the eye of housemates who believe that they're more entitled than others who are deemed by the majority to be 'weak' according to their conformity game.
It spoils the circle jerk of the ever present popular group we see in every series, and stops making it easy for them, and that can only be a good thing.
It always seems to be this popular group who shout the loudest about someone 'playing the game', even when they themselves speak with each other using the same old worn out platitudes where they admit to each other that it's 'kill of be killed' or it's 'dog eat dog' or something. They were even saying things like this just before annihilation week started, and yet are now still pointing their fingers at other people accusing them of 'playing the game', even if that person has already previously reminded them that it's a game.
I think that it's actually got to the point where some housemates don't even think about what they're saying and speak in boring BB lingo and platitudes without even remembering what they've said, like it's just talk they feel they're expected to use in BB.
If another housemate now accuses another of 'playing a game', or even worse that old chestnut 'playing a MASSIVE game'

I just want to see another housemate just show them their middle finger.
Accuse them of being dishonest, lying, or treating someone unfairly, turning people against somebody, but please stop accusing people of playing a game because that's just silly now.
Because by accusing somebody of playing a game, it reveals that you care about the game aspect, and have therefore incriminated yourself and are playing the game yourself by accusing somebody else of playing the game.
