Toyah and Daniel I can understand as they have family on the street.

But Brian? No, that's a mistake, he was a poor character played by a poor actor and without Julie, the character wouldn't work. Maybe they'll pair him up with Mary

Daniel Osbourne.. I really don't remember who that is.

Also, how will they explain Brian returning without Julie from their cruise? What would be the point in him returning without her?

Toyah would be interesting for me. I was 9 when she left, so I don't really remember much about her. It'd be interesting to see how she gets on with Leanne as adults and how she takes to Eva.

But Toyah was such a dull boring character, Corrie already has plenty of dull boring characters do they really need another one.

She'll probably have a personality transplant similar to Todd.

I think with a few tweaks, Toyah could work again

As I said on the other thread that quoted that article (from the Express), it's Packham not Packman...so it may well be rubbish.

Daniel is Ken's son with Denise Osbourne who should be in his early 20s now

Very surprised if this is the work of Kate Oates. I really expected more drama and sensationalist stories and characters, none of these characters are interesting enough and the majority of viewers won't even remember Toyah. As for Brian, I was relieved when he left, he was just another pointless comedy character who Corrie have too many of already.

Ken's son could work, obviously the Barlows need more characters as the family is not very strong in numbers and are a bit of a mess right now. Seems the last actor is not being considered to reprise the role bug I remember the lad who played him, he had a very strong Scottish accent so be interesting if they stick with that or are they going to betray the long term viewers and do a DTC and completely rewrite history and make this character completely different!

Well, Peter Barlow's gone from Scottish to English in his incarnations...

I liked Brian and Julie, they were pleasant background characters. I would like to see Toyah back as a guest for a while, to interact with Leanne, but not as a permanent character. Daniel, I can't even remember.

Daniel has been played by two actors and the last actor who played him in 2007 was Dominic Holmes who I am pretty sure is from the Manchester area. Are you not mixing him up with Ken's grandson who was Scottish?

Spot on, Anna, I think Superstar is confusing Adam Barlow (Ken's grandson, Mike's son who was played by Scottish actor Sam Robertson) with Daniel Osborne.

Yeah, I don't particularly remember Daniel having a Scottish accent but I thought it was just me. He was living in Weatherfield last time we saw him, which was the best part of a decade ago, so I don't see why he'd necessarily have a Scottish accent.

Toyah is an interesting one, I thought Georgia Taylor was well and truly done with the show. She was certainly likable, I can't see her doing a Todd (who was heading that way anyway).

Brian...????

Ah, yes. Well, I guess my earlier post still stands as regards any return of Adam...

I'm excited to hear that Toyah is returning as it'll be great for Leanne to have more family again.

Not too thrilled about Brian but Daniel should be good.

A return for Toyah would be excellent, particularly given that Leanne is about to have a massive storyline with this pregnancy. Georgia Taylor is an excellent actress who has done some great post-Corrie roles.

I really don't see the point in Brian Packham returning.

The revival of Daniel Osborne could be a very interesting one and give a much needed boost to the Barlow family unit.

I would have bought back Curly, Kevin Kennedy would have more than likely have jumped at the opportunity.

And it would have made sense of the Fresco stortyline, what we have had, he could have returned as manager.

Toyah is a dream return for many Corrie fans, so I do hope that there is some truth in this. I just hope the the character is treated well and that her return is given some genuine thought and doesn't fall into the cliche of a character returning with a 'dark secret'.

This is entering the realms of fan fiction but I would love for Kirk, Beth, Chesney & Co to move out of No.5 and for Leanne, Toyah and Eva to move in. They can renovate the house, building an extension to the rear that includes space for a third bedroom upstairs. If Toyah does return then she needs a prominent position on the street, not to be shoved into a poky flat like Leanne and Eva currently are.

Simon can be shipped off to stay with Peter indefinitely.

If Daniel Osbourne returned maybe they could in time tempt Peter Barlow back.

Brian Packham, why just why, He will just turn up, on his second episode he will probably get a job at Bessie Street school,

Wouldnt be surprised if he gets with Eileen

I wonder what lack of imagination the writers and producers will have for Daniel's reintroduction. He'll be a hunk, who'll have an eye for the ladies and be a bad boy. They already did this with Ryan, so they'll no doubt recycle the plot.

Would be good if they did something different as the soaps love to claim they are equal and want to represent everyone, but not holding out much hope.

I don't know what to think about Toyah. I guess because I wasn't a big watcher around 1997 to 2003 I can't appreciate her. But I did like the actress when she appeared in Casualty so am interested in what they will do with her.

Brian is one that comes across as strange, I didn't mind the character but he was mostly just there because of Julie Carp. Mind you did Julie and Brian ever sell their flat? It is still vacant!

At the same time though I kinda take these return announcements with a pinch of salt, it seems like something that will be denied in a couple of weeks time.

I'd be surprised if Georgia Taylor comes back tbh. Although having said that, she was brilliant in Casualty and Law & Order UK, but I can't say I've seen anything of her since then, so maybe she was unfortunate, didn't get the breaks and the work dried up and now she needs a regular income.

Shame because I think she's equally as good an actress as Suranne Jones for example.
