I've bought a LG TV and looking at the connections on the back of it there's a screw type socket like a Sky one next to the ariel one I'm just wondering if the socket is working??

Many LG TVs have a satellite tuner alongside the Freeview terrestrial tuner. Though they very often don't make much of a song and dance about it. It might not pick up the Freesat EPG but you should get the free to air channels if you have a dish to connect it to.

Satellite input. I use it for freesat; but my TV tuner doesn't pick up all the freesat channels whereas my Humax freesat box does. Which is another question...!

BTW On the specs for LG TV's (eg Argos, Currys, Direct TV's) they seem coy about admitting that the sets do take satellite. Always worth double checking before you buy!

It works on my UHD set. Use it to watch the SES Astra UHD demo.

I have a LG40LF630V,which has an F connector for satellite. This can be connected to a sky dish and will show the Freesat bouquet, but can also be set to show all channels on the Astra satellite which Sky use.It can also be used with a motorised system (with caution),Weare very pleased with the TV,Currys were unaware of the Freesat etc offering, but some Samsung TVs are similarly endowed.

Same here. A very impressive five minutes worth, but there is better through Youtube using the smart web connection.
