He knows that it is often the way to get airtime though. If you give good DR. they usually show it.

DR entries aren't back-stabbing, or else they would all be guilty of that! Or, if it is back-stabbing, then they are all guilty of it. Laura's DR entry tonight was about Alex, there have been DR entries from all of them where they talk about other housemates (eg. Jackson talked about Georgina, Jason about Charlie, Evelyn about Alex, Hughie about Andy, Lateysha about Andy ... and so on!).

They all get called into the diary room, probably several times per day, to talk about things. Obviously if a HM has lots of people to talk to and tells Big Brother much the same things in the DR then there's little point in repeating things in the edit. But with HMs like Andy, sometimes the DR is the only place he gets to talk about certain things, so if certain conversations make the edit they are more likely to have taken place in the DR.

Probably - that's probably why they showed Lateysha's a lot too, I always thought she gave good DR.

The one's who talk in full sentences generally tend to be shown every episode.

Aaron used the DR for airtime and it worked out well for him.

Not sure how someone giving their view of the house is telling anyone else what to think. Are all the opinions on here telling everyone else what to think?

Was it Perez who was always shown in the diary room?

Most of the diary room stuff is virtually scripted. They get called to the diary room by BB to be asked a list of leading questions over and over again, until they finally get them to say what the producers want for the next night's highlights.

Of course they do, then they cut it all together like Max Headroom. I'm surprised that more people don't notice all the jittery movements and constant changes in posture and seating position.

What I think is clever is how we can barely see the strings

Nah, they just want to show that everyone in the UK isn't a drunken moron, and can produce some intelligent thought.

I found his DR monologues deeply boring and very sanctiminious.

Like Andy this year, two peas in a pod.

I really thought this about Laura's DR last night. It was obvious they asked her who she was thinking of nominating (directly or indirectly)
