Why have we got another National Lottery quiz show? Nobody watches these ffs. Just have the draw and normal programming. Musketeers needs to be put down as well.

Musketeers is in its last series.

I enjoy some of the lottery quizzes, Saturday night always has been a night for light entertainment quizzes.

I can't see ITV's Dance, Dance, Dance doing anything other than flop.

If its a dance show its immediately going to be compared to SCD and you really cannot beat SCD is terms of entertainment value for viewers.
There's a video here which gives more information about the format: http://deadline.com/2015/09/dance-da...nd-1201546690/

It does sound very similar to Stepping Out. To be fair, in the weeks where it didn't go head to head with Strictly, Stepping Out's ratings were actually alright (around 20% shares IIRC) but it obviously didn't hold a candle to Strictly.

I suspect this won't either. I'm quite surprised by the news, mainly because I thought ITV was already full at the weekends for Q1 next year. I'd assume it'll be for Q1, running alongside The Voice.

I can't see them running both it and The Voice on the same night. If Dance is running in Q1, bearing in mind it only has a 6 episode order, I could see it going on Saturdays with The Voice in the old Dancing on Ice Sunday slot. It has a longer order and with Saturday Night Takeaway in the way they couldn't run it all on Saturdays.

It could potentially look a bit like this:

Saturdays
18:30 - Ninja Warrior, 19:30 Dance, Dance, Dance, 21:00 - Take Me Out (Jan - mid Feb)

19:00 - Saturday Night Takeaway, 20:30 - Meet The Parents, 21:30 - New Chat Show (mid Feb - Apr)

Sundays
18:30 - The Voice (auditions), 20:00 - Vera/Endeavour (Jan - Feb)

19:00 - The Voice (later stages), 21:00 - The Halcyon (March)

If they wanted to run The Voice audition shows later into a new 9pm drama Vera/Endeavour would have to move to either a different night or a different part of the year. They did well in Q1 in a very tough slot this year and The Voice would at least be better support than Beowulf, but they did feel a bit like stop-gap solutions in a way, they've moved around before and I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see them move again.

As for Dance Dance Dance, I can't see it being the next big thing. It might do alright, Saturdays in Q1 should in theory be a decent slot to launch something in. It won't be against The Voice so could do decent numbers. It'll presumably be up against this new Gary Barlow thing. I could see that doing decently too (despite it sounding really naff) and it being a reasonably close run thing between the two, probably with Barlow slightly ahead. I saw a rumour that Let's Dance is being brought back by BBC1 next year too (nothing confirmed, just on a Broadcast comment) - Dance, Dance, Dance could spoil that slightly as there are quite a few format similarities there. Let's Dance returning would fit well into the schedules, the Barlow show is only an 8 week run whereas The Voice did 13, so Let's Dance could run through March. I think it could do better numbers than it was doing last time we saw it, although I'm not sure it could beat Takeaway (as it once did).

Not ratings related but has anyone heard anything about when the second series of Ordinary Lies will air? I haven't seen anything about it since last year. Thanks.

It's included in the BBC1 summer highlights promo being shown at the moment, so I'm guessing next month once the Olympics have finished.

Dance, Dance, Dance does sound like a more earnest version of Let's Dance so it could be a possible spoiler. (Although I imagine with Talpa owning it it probably wil cost ITV tuppence to produce) It does seem a little bit like BBC one Saturday's could seem to be in a timewarp for Saturday Nights if we have the GN Musical Talent show and Let's Dance making a comeback though

Lets Dance was terrible tv at the end imo. I blame Robert Webb and Rufus Hound-their brilliant spoofs sustained its whole rickety lifespan. Terrible barrel scraping decision if its true.

I should stress that there's nothing confirmed about Let's Dance, I just saw it mentioned in a comment on Broadcast (and the comments there are usually left by those working in the industry) so may not be happening. It would fit nicely into the schedules though, 8 weeks of Let it Shine into 4 weeks of Let's Dance would take them to the end of March which is pretty much when The Voice ran till (and Let's Dance would end on Comic Relief weekend).

It wouldn't look like a great BBC1 lineup but would probably rate solidly enough. Let it Shine is presumably a one off though, so the search is still on for a full time Voice replacement.

Dance Dance Dance looks like it could be quite expensive to produce, but it would be ITV paying themselves effectively, so they're probably more willing to take the risk on an expensive format than if it came from elsewhere.

Mrs Browns Boys Live tonight seems like a wasted opportunity. It is quite a big moment for a summer Saturday slot.
I'm surprised at the complete lack of any build up or promotion, bar a run of the mill trailer. When a usually recorded show goes live there is usually loads of promotion. There wasn't even an item on Breakfast.

I'm also surprised it is being thrown in on a random summer Saturday

The Sun has an autumn preview of some the big shows coming along, including those on Netflix and Amazon

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbi...-finally-here/

The BBC comedy revival season is September along with a new series of Red Dwarf on Dave
Can't wait for this! IIRC Red Dwarf X did fantastic numbers for Dave back in October/November 2012. The repeats of the classic series still seem to good business as well. They've been running repeats on Gold recently, too.

And it's in a slot where they often throw out Mrs. Brown's Boys repeat so a few people may take a look, think 'oh what, another one?' and ignore it. Plus the pull of a live episode for some is rubber-necking, spotting errors in terms of the script or on the production side, but they tend to keep a few of them in 'recorded' versions anyway.

It just seems very strange all round and I can't for the life of me think why they didn't hold it back until a suitable 9pm slot appeared - even if it was tomorrow, followed by Secret Agent with the news held back until 10.30pm. At least it would have stood out a little there, even without promotion.

Why a "new chat show" when ITV already have The Jonathan Ross Show, which could be shown then?

Jonathan Ross isn't doing a series early next year as the show is taking a bit of a break. I don't know whether they'll try and launch a new chat show or try something else with the slot so just put that in.

Have any O'Carroll's done the rounds on any chat shows?

Breakfast, GMB, Lorraine, This Morning, Loose Women, The One Show, Radio 2 etc?

BIB: Exactly what I thought, most people will just assume It's a repeat.

Only one interview on This Morning I think.

I hope MBB does well, and it would be great if it overran.

What's going on with these hour long Tuesday Emmerdales? They've run them for about five weeks on the trot now, there's another this week, and another scheduled for next week (2 August) they caught up with the lost episodes from the euros a while back, so I'm not sure why they are producing 7 episodes a week at the moment?

I was wondering if they were shoehorning a seventh episode of Emmerdale in by the back door they've aired so many of late!

Does anyone have a count of how many episodes of Emmerdale they've aired this year? They just be up by now but I don't think they're going to lose any more episodes this year - I guess they may give a longer build up to England v Scotland on November 11th which will result in an episode being dropped but other than that...

Realistically, anything 5m+ for Mrs Brown's Boys would be good tonight. Can't see it going much higher than that but hopefully will be pleasantly surprised.

They ordered a handful of extras last summer as well. Probably the same way as how the BBC order extra EastEnders for Christmas/January.

It hasn't been 5 weeks on the trot, 5 weeks ago we were in the mist of the euros group stages.
