It would be good viewing, but they'd have to use actors who weren't in both soaps, or it wouldn't work. For example, Kim Tate pretending to be someone else.

Wow he really was that useless. I recall a few years later they wanted to adapt some more of the La Plante novels and asked Helen Mirren to come back again, but she refused.
Cracker returned for a one-off special in 2006 aswell. I wonder if the same thing happened there.
