Surely the Brief Encounters has a fairly limited life span, would have thought there was only so many adult sex toy parties to arrange and attend

Isn't the Durrells set in the mid to late thirties so sometime during series3 or 4 the Nazi's will arrive in Corfu and they will have to flee and come home, possibly reenacting the Sound of Music while doing so.

Perhaps 1.4m incl +1. It should beat last years 1.28m anyway.

I have access to the consolidated ratings each week, although all my numbers inc +1. However, moving forward this won't be a problem now as BARB have finally got their act together and started to post the ITV numbers exc/inc +1.

Where the hell did that come from? Maybe close to 1.8m with +1.

#BriefEncounters won the slot again for ITV and improved on last week's numbers with 4.6m / 23.1% @cplprod http://overnights.tv”

This really has done well in the Summer slot. Obviously launching it on a Monday has certainly helped things with the Corrie lead-in but still, it's decent for ITV in July.

4 ITV - 07:00 PM Emmerdale 5.673m 33%”

Odd how this week Emmerdale is up about 400k versus last Monday whilst Corrie is down. You'd have thought a bigger lead-in and Corrie's improvement recently might have matched or been up week-on-week also.

We can't blame the share on the weather, though. Only 17% against BBC One's latest serving of Getaway Car Ratings Turkey.

Really? Yikes, couldn't agree with any of that. A truly forgettable series ended in slightly surprising fashion, but it didn't really make me feel anything, which is a sign of how far BB has fallen.

The highlight of the evening oddly came during BOTS. That impressionist Luke Kempner is pretty damn good, isn't he? What a talent for the future.

Completely the opposite for me (and a lot on the forum), we were excited because anyone can take it, and as I said the Top 2 were my fave Top 2 ever, and all the finalists deserved to be there. Every year there are people who have coasted, but this lot actually all provided something. The cast has been the good thing about the series because the production and the tasks especially have been the worst ever. But the cast for me was up there with the best on C5.

Luke is brilliant I agree.

The actual result was a COMPLETE surprise, nobody would have thought Jason would win it. First surprise result in a while.

Really? It's probably been the best BB since 2012, I'm still surprised we had (mostly) normal nominations every week. Apart from "the others" in the beginning, barely any twists (for C5 standards) and some of the best C5 housemates! I hope yesterday's rating is decent.

Thanks Ray.

That New Zealand series is doing well for BBC2, they had a good night overall with the return of Inside The Factory too. Channel 4 and Channel 5 did okay.

Thats a terrible figure for a new drama production.

All on iPlayer prior to transmission and then scheduling this ghostly series at the height of summer. Even W1A would struggle to satirise that kind of idiocy.

Inc +1:
Big Brother Final: 1.50m (8.6%)
Bit On The Side: 664k (7.5%)

Up 220k on the final from last year, so C5 will be happy, it also looks set to be the highest of the series as the launch got an official of 1.86m and this could potentially beat that.

Not totally dreadful for BB. Hopefully bodes well for the main event on Thursday.

Plenty of disappointments elsewhere but BBC Two had a very strong Tuesday.

It would have been more impactful if Emma hadn't kept talking about how close it was - at one point only half a percent in it I think she said.

Now obviously that was to encourage more votes but with no clear leader it meant that you knew whoever was in that top 2 with Hughie had a real chance.

So yeah, only slightly surprising because of that. I certainly wouldn't have predicted Jason beforehand although he was 2nd favourite apparently.
