It's much harder after the statement Mel and Sue put out. Now it's perceived as a betrayal of the BBC and a money-grubbing whereas they might feel loyalty to the people who actually created the show and made them famous.
I do love what the BBC have done because they've portrayed themselves as the little guy. This is like afarmer deciding to sell his fruit to the CoOp rather than Sainsbury's and Sainsbury's winning the public support over the farmer.
As someone who has worked in marketing, this is a lesson in how to win the PR war. Take note, Starbucks.
