Cheers for the updates as always. The Sun seemed to think that he was close to renewing his deal. Mary would be icing for them but someone like Nadiya would suffice. They may be talking to the 2016 champion.

As for potential hosts, I'll throw a name out there, Matt Lucas. Stick him with Claire Balding and . . .

If they must persist with YBF, they could try to breathe life in to it by handing it over to someone like Russell Howard.

Oh no! Beadle legitimately gave me nightmares- I used to run out of the room when he was on (I was 4 at the time... )

You've Been Framed stays on air as it's cheap as chips. They should have called time on it years ago.

And provide a Strictly/Alesha Dixon situation, where an amateur home baker is expected to be a competent judge.

If he knows Mary's staying with the Beeb for sure he can name his price. He's got C4 over a (biscuit) barrel!

It'll all be a pale shadow of what it once was but it might be enough for Hunt to undeservedly cling on to her job if they get Nadiya too.

Hollywood living up to his name - It's all about the greenbacks.

It also suggests that he actually believes himself to be more important than he actually is. I really hope the BBC tell him that those offers were subject to him staying at the BBC and that he can now kiss goodbye to anything that was proposed to him and that it is unlikely, should Bake Off fail on C4, that he will be offered them again.

Oh I agree - he has certainly gone way down in my estimation.

Now what the BBC need to do is to follow up on the possible show that they seemed to be lining up for Mel, Sue, Mary & Paul, and find an appropriate replacement for Paul (far easier task that that which C4 has). Even go the Clarkson Grand Tour route and produce a show that is like Bake Off but for legal reasons isn't.

I can't believe what I'm reading!

Beadle was great, a lovely man according to all those that met and worked with him. Very good broadcaster too.

Assuming they've offered Hollywood Top Gear I can only assume the money's what's lured him to C4 instead. The man loves cars and that job won't be offered to him again whereas I daresay he could do baking shows any time he likes.

I honestly thought the Beeb would nab them both.

The moment Hollywood came out with "I work for Love Productions, not the BBC" I knew that he was going to go to C4. He is my least favourite "star" on Bake Off anyway.

Jo Brand judged diving. Piers Morgan judged BGT. Danni Minogue is judging on the Take That show.

A former winner can offer insights in to what the contestants are going through. That was the Cheryl Tweedy idea.

Maybe they'll have three judges.

It's getting 1.5m viewers. They might as well show Benny Hill or Rising Damp. It'd get more viewers and probably cost the same. YBF is dead air to what follows.

He said that months ago. It's not like he's changed his tune.

Question: Does the data on the Barb site for 7 day ratings include iPlayer viewings or are all BBC shows undervalued?

He also said months ago, on both Top Gear and The One Show, that he and the rest of the team would prefer Bake Off to remain on the BBC.

I agree with wizzywick - the writing was on the wall for Paul Hollywood remaining at the BBC as soon as he declared he worked for Love Productions, not the BBC. It was pretty clear then he would be going to Channel 4. Hollywood being seen at Channel 4 was the ultimate giveaway.

If Mary also goes, Channel 4 still have a good chance of making their Bake Off a hit.

Sherlock writer says he has been offered loads of money to take Sherlock off the BBC to another broadcaster but has refused

If they're watched on a TV, all the catch-up services are included. If they're watched on a device, they're in the http://www.barb.co.uk/project-doveta...player-report/

Come on, it's blindingly obvious he's gone for the money.

Although to be fair, he did say that earlier this year (May I think)

But they cannot judge a bake - just like Alesha D could not judge a dance (and boy did it show).

No Monday Night Football or Paralympics this week (like week one), so it should rise.

But it's not on the BBC so that isn't an option. Maybe he should have been asked if he'd prefer to be on GBBO or any possible programme on the BBC. But he wasn't.

He's been true to his word because his preference was taken away. What if he movsd to sky or ITV? Is that a bigger betrayal because he's on neither the BBC or GBBO or is it okay because he's not on C4?
