It may not have any of the four characters. It is not the same programme.

Also, 40 minutes isn't a lot. That's eight minutes an hour or two minutes a break. Would not it be better to increase the allowance to 60 minutes but insist on no one hour having more than say, 14 minutes?”

In a peak time hour there are three internal breaks with 3m 30s of paid advertising and more before and after the programme.

Cold Feet is steady but I still think that's a disappointing number. Enough for a renewal I'd have thought but I'd imagine they had hoped for better.

Disappointing. Very disappointing. I expected more. Hopefully the consolidated ratings will push it over 7m.

4* 3.5 minutes was where I got the 14 minutes from. 40 doesn't seem enough though I'm speaking from considerable ignorance!

Didn't its first episode get 8.5m? It seems to be able to get 2m catch-up at least. Maybe it's a drama with younger demographics than Sunday night dramas.

The Next week section oof the New TV Times for the week of 1-7 Oct has Who Do you Think you Are (with Danny Dyer), The apprentice and Still Game

Soaplife has made a goof by claiming both WDYTYA and The Apprentice are both on Wednesday 5th Oct but that of course is nonsense.

That's the point!

And not only were C4 stupid in not ensuring that the 4 were on board, they issued a silly claim that they could not deliver upon (even at one time saying that a loss of any/all of the 4 would not be a problem)

That just illustrated how incompetent Hunt is and how her go-to response is lies and spin.

Seeing as it'll just be a reanimated zombie version they might as well get Charlie Brooker to spoof it for them like he did with Dead Set. Hollywood would make a convincing zombie I reckon....

It's a problem with that level of 'management' and it is not just isolated to this sector. They have a fantastic wonderful idea and put it into practice, with little thought to the mechanics of what is involved.

That Cold Feet figure could be better. Yesterday's episode was brilliant perfect mix of dark and silly comedy (one scene in particular).

This "biggest October ever" for the soaps can't come soon enough - the figures are lacklustre. I suppose the 34% share for Corrie isn't bad though.

Interesting about The Apprentice - it must be moving days since Our Girl is still airing on Wednesday. On the provisionals, I notice Crimewatch hasn't yet been scheduled for Monday. I wonder if they've pulled it after the negative response? IIRC it was due for an 8 episode run. Either that or they could be switching it to another day.

Doesn't WDYTYA normally air at 9pm? I suppose it could air at 8pm on Thursday with The Apprentice at 9pm.

So despite the outrage at the new format, Crimewatch has gone up in the ratings. But I supoose its a-given as Cold Feet drops.

Crimewatch is 4 episodes in Autumn and 4 episodes in Spring I believe. 8 per year, as was the norm.

No its terrible! Corrie shoud be in the 40% region. But that is unrealistic considering it hasn't had that share for years.

But I like the news of Toyah Battersby's return. A great character and will bring new life to Leanne's character. But I hope, I realy hope, Oates has storylines ready to go for Toyah and its not just a return for the sake of it.

This is what happened with Sarah Platt. Blackburn had no idea what to do with her.

But the returns are looking good, and strengthening some of the families.

Eastenders in the past has received criticism for having characters return, saying that they were getting desperate and trying to recapture a previous time. Could Corrie be slipping into the same trap ?
