Only two ITV in the top 10, not good.

No news is news:

“Channel 4 is continuing to negotiate in a bid to get Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry to join their version of Bake Off.”

So then...

DIY SOS or Challenge Anneka?

DIY SOS is really the only original programme in that top 10. It's bleak.
What is not bleak is the rating for MLS goals on sky. Clearly helped by the live EFL game but that's impressive.

A Morse, Frost, Midsommer, Poirot type of drama could do great for either channel on a Tuesday.

Got to be the show with Kerry Katona. DIY SOS is good at what it does. It's a good antidote to the endless bad stuff we hear about.

Looks like BBC One has commissioned an entertainment show featuring Mrs Brown and her family, filmed on the set of Mrs Browns Boys. No direct announcement, but they are looking for people to nominate their mum for an award as part of a "jam packed night of entertainment".

Even they're impressed with how their cheap as chips doc about the most uninteresting subject they could think of performed.

Might as well have said: Look at how little effort we had to put in to get a rating of 2.1m and an 11% share!

Reality is they were non-triers last night. Unacceptable at this time of year with the budget they have behind them.

Fair enough, though I would have put it on Tuesdays considering how weak ITV's competition is.

Despite its detractors it is still a top show. 6m live, 2m DVR and 2m iPlayer!

I'm assuming Apprentice on Thursdays means we'll get dramas on Wednesdays instead if WDYTA goes to Mondays.

"Ambulance" does look like it will be an excellent series. So, Tuesdays could still be stronger on BBC1 than on ITV.

ITV can produce decent factual as evident with Joanna Lumley's Japan or Life at the Extreme so it's pitiful that they're happy with the ratings of Parking or Car Wars.

A good factual show can prop up the schedule, Channel 5 has got it right with The Dog Rescuers, GPs, Yorkshire Vet which are solid 8pm shows plus the big hitters like Can't Pay which does nearly 2m, even Channel 4 has 24 Hours in.. and 999 What's Your Emergency all of which rate similar if not higher to what ITV does on a Tuesday

Of course it will. BBC1 can rate higher at 9pm on Tuesday if they put a rpt of DIY SOS in that slot.

Ambulance looks like a good series and will tap into the watchers of 24hrs in A&E etc.

According to the latest Digiguide update Who Do You Think is not placed during that week - there is a special programme on Diabetes on Monday 3rd at 8.30 with an Ann Robinson programme on Britain on Thursday at 8

If C4 are still negotiating with Paul and Mary I would think they have big problems but then the whole thing has been handled so badly.

but they are still talking, neither of them having done what Mel and Sue did, and said "no" dont get me wrong those two were maybe a bit unprofessional in their appoarch, but they made an impactful point, neither Paul nor Mary has followed.

The EFL Cup game went to extra time and ran past 10pm, which I think explains why that figure is so high.

Is Charlotte Moore obssessed with health issues? That's all BBC seems to show these days. And, in Autumn too.

I have a feeling that this will be BBC1's weakest Autumn since 2013.

But the BBC had an Autumn full of factual in 2013 and yet still did pretty well. Infact, ITV looked to have a better Autumn with more drama, and yet most of that flopped.

Then presumably Ordinary Lies after that to keep up the strong Tuesday night schedule.

According to the reports I read Mel and Sue were out of contract and C4 had not approached them - the BBC have now offered them various projects.

Maybe The Missing or Ordinary Lies could pop up - they would be a good combo with Bake Off potentially.

It's a shame The Apprentice won't get the Bake Off lead-in but I guess it was risky putting two of these contestant based shows next to each other.

I'm sure if BBC One had shown Parking Wars last night it would have got 4m. Flimsy formulaic factual always does well on BBC One. Endless stuff about supermarkets and food which would be sub 2m flop stuff on ITV.

When it comes to factual and 'filler' programmes...
BBC1 has to work hard to turn viewers off
ITV has to work hard to turn viewers on

Actually I think they were slammed every week due to Lewis getting a lower figure than it had done on another day of the week previously. They were accused of obviously trying to kill off Lewis by not airing in on a different day.
