National Treasure did really well, Channel 4 promoted it really well with trails and outdoor ads. Channel 5 had a good night as did BBC Two.
I think Channel 4 and BBC Two's success with homegrown drama with The Fall, National Treasure etc should be what Channel 5 be replicating with their homegrown drama, maybe get Julie Walters to star in something as she seems to bring in ratings for Channel 4 drama ![]() It's going to be interesting to see how much impact their Today's top picks have on catch up viewing figures. Victoria was Top Pick on Sunday. |

Will they move The Apprentice back to Wednesdays from October 12th and putting WDYTYA in the Thursday slot
Seeing as they have been trailing The Missing already either that will be Monday at 9 or Tuesday at 9 |

Actually I think they were slammed every week due to Lewis getting a lower figure than it had done on another day of the week previously. They were accused of obviously trying to kill off Lewis by not airing in on a different day.

Maybe The Missing or Ordinary Lies could pop up - they would be a good combo with Bake Off potentially.
It's a shame The Apprentice won't get the Bake Off lead-in but I guess it was risky putting two of these contestant based shows next to each other. |

I'm sure if BBC One had shown Parking Wars last night it would have got 4m. Flimsy formulaic factual always does well on BBC One. Endless stuff about supermarkets and food which would be sub 2m flop stuff on ITV.
When it comes to factual and 'filler' programmes... BBC1 has to work hard to turn viewers off ITV has to work hard to turn viewers on Actually I think they were slammed every week due to Lewis getting a lower figure than it had done on another day of the week previously. They were accused of obviously trying to kill off Lewis by not airing in on a different day. Well BBC1 did have a series like this called Parking Mad. It launched on a Thursday to 4.6m. Then last year BBC1 repeated the series aftter the news and the rpt's gor 2m. That is why some shows the BBC plays, will never do well on another channel. The BBC has that, though many deny, instant fallback of viewers who will watch as casual viewers. DIY SOS being a prime example. Its an easy watching programme, if there's very little on. |

With ITV2 picking up The Great Indoors and ITV Lethal Weapon, I wonder if more pickups are on the cards? Bull has launched very well on CBS as has This is Us on NBC, Bull I think could be eyed by FOX, Channel 5 and Sky since it has Michael Weatherly of NCIS fame, not sure on This is Us but it strikes as a Channel 4/More4 sort of show.

Mirror also says the series is being split into 2 batches of 5 with the second batch to go out in January. I predict The Missing will replace Our Girl, which would give it 3 weeks sitting alongside Bake Off. |

They're actually boasting about it:
The new series of #ParkingWars launched last night on @ITV with an audience of 2.1m viewers and an 11% share! @itvmedia |

The Mirror today reports that WDYTYA? is getting an 8pm slot from November. This contradicted the "Next Week" column in the TV Times, but it now looks like the Mirror was right.

The EFL Cup game went to extra time and ran past 10pm, which I think explains why that figure is so high.

National Treasure debuted with 3m for C4 last night - a 15% share and second only to BBC1's DIY SOS in its slot Fantastic for National Treasure. One of the best dramas I've seen this year. The Tuesday flop zone for ITV plunders on it seems. |

That doesn't look like a boast to me. It looks like a simply statement of fact.
ITV shouldn't be tweeting about their Tuesday night ratings full stop. What they hoped to achieve with that tweet I have no idea. |

Wow! That's a very good start for National Treasure. Did not see it doing that well. I wonder if it will be able to hang on to those viewers over the next few weeks?!
Channel 4's drama slate is strong with No Offence, Humans, National Treasure and the upcoming The ABCs, I wonder what will fill the gap left by Indian Summers though. I wonder if their long in development adaptation of A Tale of Two Cities will be ready by next year or the year after. Speaking of Humans, I wonder if they're planning to air it this year or are they saving it for 2017? No Offence I assume will replace National Treasure once it's done. |

Tuesday night TV won't do that. ITV was always going to find it harder to compete in the digital age. They probably lost more viewers to sky and they don't have 20m people listening to their radio like the BBC does. Maybe ITV should launch a popular radio station. |

EastEnders was slowly recovering from the mistakes of 1989.
EP Michael Ferguson got rid of the lightweight 'comedy' characters, brought issues back to the fore, and introduced the Mitchell brothers. He was probably one of the most astute EPs that EastEnders has ever had, and deserves a lot of credit for saving the show.

ITV have a perfect opportunity then to move Corrie to 19:30 on weekdays and create the 60mins soap block. EE would move to 20:00 and both channels would have some clear scheduling.
There's a reason why ITV keep Coronation St away from EastEnders, except under extremely rare circumstances. It dies on its arse when it starts at the same time as EastEnders. ![]() Quote:
It seems EE is vulnerable.
No more vulnerable than CS. Quote:

Eat Well For Less follows the Ratings Thread's magic formula of food, supermarkets and BBC One, but it died on its arse last Friday at 9pm.

[/b]EastEnders would stay at 7.30pm. If 18 months of Emmerdale couldn't shift it, Coronation St wouldn't.

You may be right but I'd guess if Corrie was moving to 7:30 every night you'd see EE shift. It would be a permanent move rather than an occasional Emmerdale special and it'd be five days a week. The show that is always on at 7:30 is going to be the one people get used to watching at 7:30. Especially when that show is the the British televisions GOAT. It's all speculation on my part because ITV wants the flexibility to parachute soaps in to all hours. |

The Tuesday line-up of... 7.30 EastEnders 8.00 Holby 9.00 Drama/Factual ...works well for BBC One, so they wouldn't tear it up to accommodate ITV. |

Yes but it has done extremely well before that so I don't you can let 1 weeks ratings dictate a whole series' ratings, especially as Friday isn't the day it is usually aired.
