You can bet on WWE matches, specifically the big ones, because only a handful of people know the outcome. It's possible that only three people know who'll win tomorrow. And that could change anytime between now and the match ending if Vince changes his mind. Bookies are safe.

I get your point though as clearly they keep it well hidden. Unlike SCD where anyone can see who was eliminated within seconds.

Do you think ITV saw Beowulf as the new Robin of Sherwood? Such incompetence.

The BBC is going to wipe the floor with ITV on Saturdays for the next three months. 2017 looks like being very different, however.

Don't under estimate the Gary Barlow talent show. I think it'll be a good match for The Voice. Also, the BBC have "His Dark Materials" for next Autumn too. Isn't there also a new Spice Girls search-a-thon too?

Beeb mulling a Xmas Day Bake off apparently. Mega-ratings likely for that swansong.

It would be a nice way for it to end its time on the beeb.

I think they could go with

8pm Bake off
9pm Eastenders
10pn Mrs Brown

Not sure about earlier if they have Dr Who and CTM

I've got a feeling The Voice will win. I just suspect itv will seriously refresh the show. A lot depends on the surrounding shows. Where's Ninja and Takeaway and Take Me Out? Could the Voice be on at 8pm after Ninja and it be Ninja v Barlow?

Is Barlow a little tarnished? Isbthen format too repellent to non-Take That fans? Surely a Spice Girls show cant follow it?

His Dark Materials could be brilliant. I wonder if they'll play it safe and stick it on in the Sunday 9pm slot. Casualty fills the post SCD drama slot so where can it go?

That was in May and June. It's after BGT so I guess it be against Dance Dance Dance and Family Fortunes or The Cube? This is where ITV too needs dramas. I'd have said Marple or Poirot but ....

Be interesting watching them cast the part of Barlow's accountant in that Take That thing.

How does the XF thread have 62 pages when it just got over 30 throughout the series for Saturday

X Factor seeing its usual dip post-auditions although to be above 7m is still OK. There was no Saturday show last year because of the rugby so there isn't really anything to compare to, although no Saturday show after the auditions was above 7m last year. Very good for Strictly, up nicely on last year's rugby hit show.

Because the show was almost double the length.

How does that compare with last year? It seems a bit low.

I think that is fine for TXF after a near 2hr show. Ditto SCD.

Last years was 7.66 overnight, consolidating to 9.31.

First Saturday Strictly edition comparison*
2015 - 7.66m (39.7%)
2014 - 8.18m (39.0%)
2013 - 9.11m (43.4%)
2012 - 8.72m (40.7%)
2011 - 7.50m (41.0%)
2010 - 8.72m (41.6%)

* - 2010-2012 aired in October as the series started later.

Up almost a million on last year and very much in line with other years.

I expected X Factor to be higher, should be higher tonight. Both shows will be dented next week as they clash for, I think, 20 minutes.

Great audience shares for Strictly there.

I don't think it'll be up against the Voice- I think I TV will shift it to the Sunday DOI slot- The Voice has always been vulnerable to competition (Splash initially dented it, as did NWUK) so I think they'll go with Dance Dance Dance/NWUK on Saturdays until Takeaway comes back in February- Plus, it'll sure up their Sundays and give a 9pm Drama a boost- It's what I would do

It would have been embarrassing for SCD not to be up YOY, considering it clashed with the Rugby world cup last year.
In a few weeks we'll begin to get accurate YOY comparisons.

Not a massive peak for XF but has kept its audience well over what was a long stint. Not sure what that means for the "6 chair challenge" in terms of its popularity but I still think we are going to see a fair few 6 millions for the performance shows unless something occurs to grab a bigger audience.

Seems good for Strictly in its non vote week, but still think they should try and find a way to ditch the Friday start. Poor slot to launch something like this. Strictly would normally build now to an early peak at Halloween.
