Could the constant forwards and backwards arguments about nothing stop? It's getting really boring.

Sorry, I don't. Have you got a figure for Question Time Rick?
I'll get back to you Thursday.

I'm finding Strictly hard to stay with, XF far easier. Don't care what the ratings say

I thought X Factor was good tonight. Best judges houses episode in a while. Perhaps it's just the effect of not using last year's awful format but for me the edit was much better than previous years. It flowed really nicely and they didn't do the annoying thing where they had some of the contestants interviews interspersed with the performances - everyone's performance was shown in full. It was a long show but it didn't feel like a drag. I hope it does alright.

Didn't see Strictly so can't comment. It's not my cup of tea but I'm sure it was as well produced as ever.

Agreed. They've gone back to basics but not so back to basics it's boring.

Strictly is always well produced but as people have tired of XF I'm not sure how it isn't far behind - the casting is very predictable now and when you've seen one type of each act you've almost seen them all. I don't hold out much hope for this series for my own satisfaction, but it is in the 'in' saturday night show regardless of quality so it will continue to do well ratings wise (I know people who watched XF religiously back in the day and wouldn't be seen dead watching Strictly, yet now do as it's the more popular one...)

Interesting news coming in from the Strictly results show recording tonight - if XF did what Strictly have, they'd get absolutely slated for it! Tune in tomorrow...

Judge Rinder on second to last on SCD? I wonder why?
You need to change that yet again. He was 3rd to last.

Not sure why their sexuality is relevant to their singing ability...

I wonder if the return of SCD on Sunday will give any uplift to the two 9pm dramas? I expect Poldark to go up, as AR should do. But will SCD be bringing a bigger LIVE audience to Sunday's instead or recording?

So why mention their sexuality if it's a singing contest?

Well they are clearly making a big point about it. Anyway, if me mentioning that offends anyone then apologies.

It is not a singing contest though. It's a pop star search. The most successful long term acts are often not the better singers.

As for what happened in Strictly, I am not sure how you get around that but it's not fair. Controversy creates cash and Strictly made the right call in terms of ratings.

Yes it isn't fair but SCD is not fair. It's like the X Factor in that sense.

Well the bad singers have careers but err not as pop stars. Ie Rylan, Jedward.

Don't think you should be discussing SCD till tomorrow.

I don't know what's happened but Strictly always overcomes with ease any so-called 'controversial' results as it's not that big of a deal for the celebrities. Just a bit of harmless fun. XF is toying with people's futures so any anomalies there are always going to be blown up more.

Nor was he on second to last.

Baffling from H of De Vil. Maybe they have an explanation as to what their point was and why they lied...

I find it strange when people relentlessly talk about a show they supposedly hate.
Sorry, forgot " your forum rules" that others with a different opinion can't post, this thread was taken over by XF last night, yesterday I had a prolific " 2" posts on this thread, one covered about "5" shows including My Girl.

XF is Marmite, it provokes comment, it has always spun on that showing tabloid headlines, Louis says the most talked about show on TV.

But it's rstings have fallen from the highs of 16 million to the lows of 7 million, its underperforming, it's out of date, and half its viewers have left it.

The scripted pantomime which brings back contestants at a whim and has a focus on the tean market but has three senior judges in their sixties who are out of touch, and can't sing, will provoke comment.

You seem to try to shut down conversations, that you do not like, and it's not just me, I have seen it this week in the broadcasting forum, with strong comments on other posters.

Try to relax a bit........

If the point was to observe how cunning and sneaky the BBC are at organising the Strictly line-up so that the most talked-about dances overlap with The X Factor, it would have just been simpler to say that Judge Rinder's dance was on between 20:00-20:05.

And since when was Judge Rinder a superstar anyway?
And maybe those who plan the show decide to put the most talked-about danced/dancers towards the end to create s climax to the show rather than having it fizzle out.

And they will also try to balance the show, so that in this case there is a balance between the dances being performed.

All to make it more exciting for the viewer rather than to engage in any supposed battle with another format that might not have too much of an overlap in terms of viewers anyway.

I'm not shutting down anything, because unlike you, I don't have an allegiance to anything. I don't love or hate X Factor. In fact, the actual TV show is irrelevant to the issue really. Here you go again, hating on a TV show. Is that normal? It's not just me that comments on your hate campaign, many people have commented on it.

So let's say I hate a TV show. Let's say it's 'TOWIE'. Because I hate it so much, what am I going to do?

1. Go into the TOWIE forum and pick out negative comments.
2. Trawl the internet for negative tabloid reports on TOWIE and repost them here
3. Relentlessy post essays on why TOWIE is crap across multiple forums and threads.
4. Never listen to any counter arguments telling me TOWIE isn't crap, it rates well.
5. Post my essays, ignore the following comments, post another essay.
6. Repeat.

Is that a normal cause of action? Because I don't think it is. It's strange. Because if you hate a show that much, you surely avoid it at all costs?

I'm not saying you can't have an opinion, but you post the same messages every single time. Then, you totally ignore any counter argument or any comments. Then a few days later - the same post. How does that add to the discussion in any way, shape or form? It doesn't.

Excellent for Strictly. I think XF is where people expected it to be? Anyway, the merry go round of repeating the same points ad nauseam on here will continue.

Fantastic for Strictly. That must be the highest week 2 rating for a long time. OK for X Factor. The clash meant it was below 7m but the peak was actually up on last week so not a bad result for a long show. Up slightly on last year's Saturday judges houses show (which was 3 weeks later) and it was slightly higher than 2014's in share.
