Bit better for Newzoids, but still not good enough.

Excellent for Strictly. To be fair, The X Factor held up better than I expected being only 0.2m down on last week despite the 30 minute clash. Share looks slightly low for it though.

Average is up YOY, great stuff, and good peak!
I thought you said last night that we couldn't compare it to last year's rating.

From rzt:

Strictly Come Dancing : 9.18m (44.6%)
* peak 10.25m (48.2%) at 7.45

The X Factor: 6.81m (32.8%) Inc +1
* peak 8.12m (39.0%) at 20.40

Excellent for Strictly. I think XF is where people expected it to be? Anyway, the merry go round of repeating the same points ad nauseam on here will continue.
That peak share for Strictly is

I presume he's comparing it to last year's Saturday judges houses show, which was of course 3 weeks later. Probably still a reasonable comparison though.

There was for Judges Houses though it was on 24th October rather than the 1st.

Missed that. Looking at the time of it, The X Factor arriving on the scene obviously meant the shoe plateaued rather than continuing to climb.

The share will have been hit a bit by the clash. It was actually the highest Saturday judges houses share since 2013 (2015 was 31.1%, 2014 was 32.1%). Tonight could be very low though.

Isn't it just? You do have to wonder if it would have been above 7m with something a bit more substantial around it, but given the crap they seem to like swamping their big Saturday shows with that seems unlikely. I presume it'll be Meet The Parents leading into XF in a couple of weeks which I can see going the same way as Go For It.

Making it up as he goes along I think.

Brilliant for Strictly, good for X Factor. However, ITV is just dire looking either side of X Factor.

Newzoids would do better post Victoria on a Sunday night. Move the news to 10:30.

Well the bad singers have careers but err not as pop stars. Ie Rylan, Jedward.

Don't think you should be discussing SCD till tomorrow.
I said they're not the better singers. They're the ones who often make the final but don't win it against the better singer.

I tried to keep my SCD comment to be no more than what had already been discussed.

SCD is so far ahead now that I think there's an argument for starting it later (say, 7pm) so that it takes the prime position in primetime.

Calling them singers in the first place is an exaggeration of course.

Casualty holding on to a good number again. It does look like viewers have stayed following the 30th

Not surprised that the Xfactor is being trounced by Strictly. The joke acts, staged selection process and general manipulation have alienated a lot of its viewers.

It does seem to be more prevalent this series.

I think that was its initial slot wasn't it? It didn't blaze a trail there iirc.

Most shows doing a bit better than I predicted. The big two can be happy with that. XF peaking over 8m bodes well for it.

I'm sure the 5 minute intervals will show the XF got a lot of 7.5-8m figures after SCD with lots of 6m numbers for the adverts.

That is pretty harsh on One Direction, Fleur and JLS.
