Yeah, I was comparing £2.30 now to £1.40 four years ago. When listings are frequently wrong (most likely because they're supplied with incorrect info from the tinpot channels) I do question why I keep buying it and there will come a price-point where I just say "no more".

Now this season, Kelly Cates is no longer one of the presenters of the show. That to me and to most others would suggest she had been sacked (or in other words, had her contract terminated/not renewed).

It's not necessarily libellous to suggest it because we have simply come to an obvious conclusion based on what has happened. If proof or reporting emerges showing that Kelly Cates was not sacked, I will happily retract my statement.

The football chat can be good if they can get some decent presenters and pundits who can build up a good rapport. I think a Soccer Saturday style format with one host and three or four pundits sat at an adjoining desk would work better. The highlights could be shown, as introduced by the host, and the various pundits could give their opinions. They should try to get recognisable pundits and keep them the same each week so that the viewers can become familiarised with them and they can build up a rapport.”

I never panned Kelly. She was the best thing on it.

RT has doubled in price over the past 4 years. When emailed about it they say "some sunday newspapers cost £2"”

Oh I see Sorry I thought that the regular price was £3.00

Borderline and Impractical Jokers DOA as predicted. An Office knock-off and a format that'd already failed for them anyway - At least they paired these two bombs together!

And haven't they nicked the Beeb's self-aggrandising tag-line to plug Borderline - "Original British Comedy"?”

You're thinking of Original British Drama, which Sky nicked from the BBC.

Original British Drama/Comedy - Amounts to the same thing. Five are using it on the trails for Borderline and Suspects.

Predicted rating for Suspects tonight 0.8m - 1.1m it normally does well after Celebrity Big Brother.

Comedy and Drama are technically 2 different genres. And I might add it's not trademarked.

They've nicked the tagline from the Beeb which is hugely ironic considering the main part of it is Original British....

I'm sure it would have topped 1m.

Some Sunday newspapers cost three pounds! And like the Radio Times, you don't have to buy it. Be different if it was the eighties when you did have to.

Indeed. And here's the press release to confirm that she's joined Sky...

So, are we going to get the retraction soon?

No, because it's a description of the programme, not a slogan you can copyright. It is a comedy, it is British, and it is also original.

And they're only doing it because the Beeb have turned that tagline, through a couple of years+ worth of usage, into a piece of branding, a sort of on-screen kitemark of quality/prestige.

The BBC use 'Pure Drama' as a tagline now which I think is a poor replacement.

Mr Bean did well for ITV4, nearly 500k at 8.30pm, although I would have thought this and Benidorm would be a better fit on ITV2.

I think we can see why the BBC but the Living and the Dead all on i player up front.

Not just to test the concept of a box set but because they likely suspected viewers would find it hard to stay the course and it not only gives a try out to the concept of offering series the modern way but also provides a pretty good excuse if it turns into a live ratings disaster.

That's decent for Cash Trapped - considering it's a new format (and been generally disliked on here in the thread about it!).

The Living And The Dead never caught on, neither did New Blood. Compare it to Car Share which debuted on iPlayer first but still did well when shown on BBC1. BBC drama has been missing something the last few months and I don't mean viewers.

If they do bring Cash Trapped back where does it go? Fills in for The Chase regularly?

It's more of a Christmas tradition in this household. A copy of the Radio Times, a glass of baileys and a pen to highlight the best programmes to watch.

I don't think the final episode was suddenly going to rate well, after the previous few sank without trace.

They commissioned and created an awful lot of drama these past two years, so clearly they've been burning off the least successful during the quietest time. There hasn't been anything decent drama related since War and Peace, Death in Paradise and Silent Witness. Although, I do feel The Living and the Dead would have been a better fit for Autumn leading up to Christmas. Seems strange to lob it out in the summer and waste it.

Can't quite find Irish ratings anywhere but RTÉ have axed The Voice of Ireland for their own Strictly come Dancing under the BBC Worldwide brand name "Dancing with the Stars". Has The Voice of Ireland not done well?

Well Impractical Jokers UK last night clearly struggled. It can only get worse. I suspect after ep2 this will be shunted to 3am in the morning.

Next week, I can't see anything bu Borderline and IJUK dropping quite a chunk of their launch audience.

Its good to see Ch5 trying out new stuff, but most of it seems to be awful - especially the LE stuff. Factual is fine (when its not benefits related).
