Gifty was the big one for me. She was the must. No Chris Peyton is a joke. HoneyG will draw more ratings but I hope they have Chris in as a wildcard. Of course not having the Philippines lady (can't recall name) simply because she could not fly to USA was nonsensical.

This is why you put 16 through and slash them fast. Let the viewers decide. But the producers will always fix things when they can as we've also seen in Strictly.

Crikey, the Friday edition of Strictly had a 2.09m timeshift.

You can't say anyone in the boys or girls category lost out to the two novelty acts though as they aren't in the same category.

Saara is quirky but she's a very good singer. Far better than most in her category. Relley C is an odd choice given her lack of airtime but she was good yesterday. In fact she probably gave the best performance in her category yesterday.

I can't see them doing wildcards as they've only got 2 hours. Maybe 1 act at a push. This is the advantage of having 16 rather than 12 though as they'd get away with 2 novelty acts in a larger field and there wouldn't have been as many controversial exits.

Some posters are going OTT in their reactions to XF. Most people just watch it, like Strictly. 9m consolidated for XF is solid for what many consider to be the weak episodes.

The idea that ITV and Syco don't care about the show and happily are driving viewers away is bizarre. It is clearly averaging 7.5m overnights for the splits not against SCD or running adverts.

Strictly also loses 1m+ viewers to XF when they clash (if only you could record shows) so I don't think the BBC will be forcing clashes in the future.

Poldark and Victoria are probably just losing overnight viewers to catch-up viewing.

EastEnders staying about 5m mark and should turn around soon going by posts on here.

Ryder Cup did okay despite the Brits not being able to able to win like the continental players. Insert Brexit joke.

I didn't see that timeshift coming for the Friday Strictly! It's actually up on Friday's rating last year of 9.22m!

I agree. A 2 million timeshift is pretty good for it. I thought that it would struggle to do that much. That Friday show catches people out but the timeshift shows that people want to catch up with it.

I watch on catch up. Only the bits I want to see. As you say result is out night before. Assume folks like me count only as a part viewer. Probably watch about 50%.

Well I disagree with this. The two men were much superior to these two in my opinion and it seemed like the opinion of Sharon and Robbie until decision time also which was strange. In fact a lot of the judge's comments did not match up with their decisions at all.

The main website has become a poor man's BuzzFeed. A shame really, it used to be great.

Sharon also put through two acts that she didn't even give a seat to in the six chair challenge and she's quite well known for not changing her opinions easily or quickly. It was all a bit baffling and isn't helping the reputation the programme has for fixing.

Although the same thing happens every year, it just feels a bit different this time in that it might actually be the final straw for viewers. It'll be interesting to see how the lives pan out now they've got rid of most of the people they focused on in the earlier rounds.

Sharon and Robbie were both really positive about Relley C - from those comments it was clear she was going through. Less so about Saara I admit, not sure what was going on there. I'd probably have put James through over her, there should have been one of the men there.

Elsewhere, certainly Louis' comments matched up with his decisions. Simon's kind of did but his category was close anyway. Nicole's pretty much did as well from what I remember.

Strictly is down on Sunday due to the results show clashing completely with X Factor. Usually Saturday and Sunday get similar ratings.

I think it's about what would be expected - it probably would have gone marginally higher if it had been an absolute nail biter going down to the last match or two.

Very rare for any non-football sport on Sky to go above a million but then the Ryder Cup is at the very top of Sky's non-football content so it absolutely should be delivering that sort of number.

Don't know if anyone can look up the peak for the 2012 Ryder Cup when it was last in USA (so same timeslot) - that was of course a remarkable Europe comeback win from behind that was much closer than last night.
