Louisa Johnson was against many very talented acts last year such as 4th Impact,Che,Sean,Lauren who could've all pushed her had she not been pimped so much by producers..
Lool are you for real? Relley C? Where is her fanbase? She is tipped to be one of the ones who will struggle tonight..I can't see Gifty having much support either.
There are 5/6 acts already on Strictly who are getting very high scores over 30 including Danny..

Strictly and X Factor look like they're adding more in timeshift this year compared to last year.

Wow! Strictly held up extremely well given the 50-minute clash period. If XF hadn't have been there it would have probably peaked at over 11m. I was expecting it to be around 8.8m last night. That's it's biggest Week 3 rating since 2013 when it averaged 9.8m.

XF a bit better than I was expecting. I thought it might be below 6m inc +1. It was a surprisingly decent show last night. Good to have Dermot back and the judges were on good form. Should do better tonight.


Low peak for XF though considering last Saturday's show peaked at 8.1m. Strictly's peak last week was 10.3m so up 0.3m.


Thought it might have done better than that to be honest. Looking at the breakdown, the second half was comfortably above 6m for the final 45-mins.

From the breakdown I posted earlier, and as you say Roscoe, Strictly would've cracked 10m average if there was no clash. And XF would probably have managed 6.5-7m inc +1. But this year seems to be exactly the same as last year. Decent start, creeping up and over 7m and then dropping into the 6's as the lives progress. I can't see the live shows jumping into the 7's. Of course, happy to be proven wrong and even though I can't stand the programme any rating over 7m brings a smile to my face.

I dunno, I think we all need to accept that XF will never see the heights of 2008-2011 again. Hell, even 2012-2014. Those days are long gone and 6-8m is how it will rate from now on I think. It's not magically going to jump up to 9m. Might touch 8m when the clocks change and we get near Winter/Christmas. Ahhh no no no, I mentioned Christmas. FAR too early to think about that!

Mind you, you can't preach to the converted. As we see every weekend on here.

Thanks for those lewie. I've spoken to the person who runs that website before and they do estimate the +1 numbers. So I imagine they've estimated the +1 numbers and subtracted it from the inc +1 number to get an approx. exc +1 rating. Very frustrating that these numbers are so hard to come across ever since DS stopped their ratings round-ups.

As for XF. Yes I believe the live shows are going to rating very similar to last year. Probably around 6.5m with the results around 7m. Not great but at least they've stopped the decline for another year (well, for the moment anyway - still 9 weeks to go).

EDIT: Looking at the rating for 25 Sept. That has to be wrong. The consolidated +1 rating was 0.58m. Therefore surely the exc +1 rating would be around 6.5m?! I can't see the +1 rating from overnight to consolidated doubling.

I'm not so sure. It may have seemed so on the second Saturday (the 8.3m), but then on the six-chair it had the SCD lead in and got 7.1m, which I'm convinced is no different to what it would have gotten without it. Additionally, on the Sunday, there was no SCD but it went up very slightly.
I don't think SCD gives XF much of a leg-up at all, in fact looking at the breakdowns, perhaps more vice-versa - SCD seems to increase as it approaches 8pm.

Sometimes both things can be true.
Yes it was the lowest overnight and yes it was predictable due to the clash.
And yes, it's pretty much meaningless since SCD won't chase a clash that costs them 10% of their viewers.

Elstree is a possibility - the building Strictly is in actually has two sound stages, both the same size. That could be....interesting. I would say Elstree is the best pick both in terms of size and ease of travel; how does one get to Pinewood or Shepperton?

Predictions for Tonight?

I'm going to say 10m for SCD and 7m for X Factor.

X Factor and Strictly both got lower ratings then what they used to get.

I don't get why the ratings suddenly drop for the live shows these days, they are the best part, and the only real part I watch all of.

Perhaps it tanks because people are fed up of the joke contestants. They used to hide/pretend they didn't do this, but now you have Simon at the six chair challenge telling Louis to pick Skoda Octavia and last night pretending to criticise them. It's a joke and that's why Strictly is slaughtering it in the ratings.

Really? So now the UK's current number 1 is a Z-lister - interesting.
And it's not a shame to be up YOY and hold its audience despite a record-length clash, is it?


Or perhaps you could see that it's up YOY several times this year, and down only slightly most others, and that that really doesn't constitute to "tanking" at all.
But hey, it wouldn't be the ratings thread without OTT vocab.
