Although not ratings related, I was right about those two attention seekers on TXF. There next TV venture is Big Brother or anything that will keep them on TV tbh. http://metro.co.uk/2016/10/10/watch-...-6182704/#mv-a

Typical ITV daytime. On GMB, likely This Morning next.

BBC1 gave it a free pass - 1.8m for Reggie Yates in Chicago
BBC1 has just put factual on Monday nights. I miss drama there. Saying that I was watching The Victorian Slum on BBC2.

Do you have any daytime ratings of note Bushmills?

BBC Three docs on One - not really working, is it?

Looks like Cold Feet will this series get away without being tested against another drama.

I was thinking BBC v ITV up to around 3pm. We know what happens with the breakfast shows and afternoon quizzes as they're often reported. Not most stuff inbetween though.

A documentary better suited for after News At Ten. They don't promote them well anyway. BBC3 stuff is shown all over the place on BBC1 and BBC2 with no real planning.

Next Monday at 9pm on BBC1 it's "Paxman on Trump v Clinton: Divided American".

It does seem that BBC1 were expecting Cold Feet to perform a lot better than it does. I feel that CF is slightly under-performing giving the competition, but it's consistent and the high time-shift leaves it with a solid consolidated figure.

Good start for The Victorian Slum. I thought that represented weaker competition for CF than Ripper Street but TVS had a higher overnight figure.

Would I be in right in thinking BBC1 hasn't topped the 4m mark in that Monday 9pm slot since the Olympics ended in mid August?

Seems a waste. They could be doing so much more with that slot.

The BBC is not suppose to be all about ratings, though. BBC1 chose not to compete aggressively against one of ITV's Autumn drama highlights, although that drama doesn't seem to have taken full advantage of its easy ride.

And I don't think there needs to be any planning, or specific slots, for BBC3 repeats on BBC1 and BBC2. Each programme will be watched or not on its own merit, not because it was "first shown on BBC3".

Having said that, it's no surprise that Reggie Yates' documentary rated so low. Very sad for the victims and their families, but gun crime in Chicago is not something many people in Britain will be bothered about.

It's not about competing aggressively, it's about not putting drama on Monday at all in Autumn. They do in Winter and Broadchurch was a bigger hit than Cold Feet. Factual isn't the only alternative to drama. What about comedy? But no it's relentless factual that doesn't always appeal to people and drives viewers off.

I think there should be planning with BBC3 programming because it's never promoted on BBC1 or BBC2. You just stumble across it. Peter Kay's Car Share was promoted for its iPlayer showing and then promoted when it was on BBC1. Why couldn't they do that for Thirteen or Fleabag?

I think John Thompson has suggested that ITV have given the green light.
That's great news.

If the Saturday show is hit by a large clash then the Sunday show is bound to be too. Nice to see the Sunday show doing a bit better than the Saturday show.

BBC1 has Sundays locked down at this time of the year. Countryfile, Strictly, Antiques and a costume drama - it's such a strong line up for older people who still prefer to watch TV live. Poldark let the side down.
Not quite. With The X Factor the highest rating section would be the love shows and the results show in particular. Now the auditions tend to get better ratings than live shows barring the final. It's similar to The Voice, the best ratings are for the Blind Auditions.

If Saturday is hit by a clash Sunday would do better because there is no clash. Some would just watch on Sunday to see the recap of Saturday then the results.

I disagree that BBC1 has Sunday. BBC1 has Sunday up to 8pm then ITV has the rest of the night. Antiques Roadshow isn't a ratings juggernaut, it has been X Factor's competition on Sundays since X Factor moved there in 2009. X Factor and a drama like Doc Martin/Downton then I'm A Celeb from mid November would have ITV winning the night overall in terms of numbers. Even All Star Family Fortunes was ahead of Countryfile in the 7pm hour.

The Auditions are only an hour and they're the highlight show on the night. SCD doesn't sap enthusiasm since it's normally not on.

What I meant is 1 has shows from 6-10pm which can average 5m. All are successes. It's the only time I can think that either channel can do that. And it does it through four different programmes.
ITV has potential to run a big 3-hour block on Saturdays next year.

I didn't realise FF beat Countryfile. Come on down Price is Right.

6.8m for Corrie when it's very poor in my eyes. EE doing well but it needs to start going towards 7m now.
