That's what the papers said. Maybe it's true but we don't know yet for certain. Linking it to World Mental Health Day is a stretch as we don't know anything yet. If you quit over a few judge's comments then that is a lack of backbone, other contestants have been told worse. But we don't know if it's true.

I expect he got the idea from Showtime's The Affair which is just starting its third season.

Each episode has segments showing the same timeline from different characters' perspectives.

Good to see National Treasure held its audience across the series. Might have been higher perhaps if the England qualifier wasn't on.

Channel 4/BBC2 drama ratings are usually unexceptional that's why big hits like Wolf Hall, Line Of Duty and Humans stick out.

Thanks Ray.

That is the football taking some viewers from other channels there. They didn't do too badly though.

Taking the edge off of the Anne Robinson bit it seems”

That Anne Robinson doc will need more than a name change to save it.

That's the premise behind Boomtown. Sadly was axed too soon. Now that's an idea for a UK crime drama.

Second season of Boomtown was terrible and largely abandoned the different perspective timeline that made the first so unique and compelling. It was deservedly cancelled as nobody wanted to see more of S2 which just turned it into a generic cop show.

Southland was the spiritual follow-on from Boomtown and largely ended it's run without dropping in quality.

One of C5's most watched 10pm shows all year.

Should never have cancelled / rested Extraordinary People. It's always done a job. And the titles don't have to be that shocking for it to rate.

In that case Monday was the first time in ages that The Chase and Pointless were level in the ratings.

Surprising given Pointless has been on repeats since September 21 according to Digiguide.

I never know when Pointless is new or in repeat mode. This time last year both The Chase and Pointless were over 3m.

On the same date last year Pointless had 3.16m (23.5%) and The Chase had 2.85m (22.0%). Pointless was on repeats then too.

Nope, that's with +1. The highest it got that week was 2.95m on the Friday. I think it moved past 3m a couple of weeks later.

Those figures are from Broadcast magazine so include +1 but aren't tapechecked (I don't think tapechecking makes much difference with either show though).

Just seen another trailer for Meet The Parents which gives an indication of the style of the programme. It's up against it up against Strictly, but it's clearly aiming for the younger audience (like Take Me Out).

I've also seen trailers for the intriguing new show This Time Next Year hosted by Davina McCall which I'm thinking will get the Wednesday 8pm slot. For a moment I thought ITV were going to launch it against Bake Off () but they've got the two-parter Puppy Secrets: The First Six Months to fill the slot until Bake Off finishes. So TTNY to start Wednesday 2nd November? Or perhaps getting Sunday 7pm if The Chase Celebrity Special is due to end soon.

I've not seen it since the first week and I liked the dual set and 4 presenters. I assume they ditched it for the Anne and Nick look.”

Daybreak was axed when ratings fell to 600,000. It's funny when you think about it. The Good Morning Britain audience isn't the BBC Breakfast audience. They need to look elsewhere.

That explains it. I think I was look at the previous week last year in some old ratings.
