Excellent for Strictly though neither show took advantage of the smaller clash.”
I'd rather not have wholesale changes again. It'd only make matters worse. I agree that it wouldn't be a better show with those acts there but I think the audience liked them and got pissed off with who got through over them. It probably didn't help that Relley got no screen time in the pre-recorded rounds and Saara annoyed people after her six chair strop, which will have made it seem like more of an injustice (even though both are doing well on the live shows). Whilst if Louis had put 4 of Diamonds through initially instead of The Brooks (who I don't think anyone liked in the first place) Brattavio's inclusion wouldn't have seemed quite as bad. But they shouldn't have bothered with Brattavio in the first place. They can just about get away with one joke act but not 2.
Looking at how it held up OK with the longer clash last week (did better than last night!) I wonder if next year they might just be better putting it at around 7pm and making more use of the time after it to try and launch something new. XF clearly isn't going to last forever and the current setup doesn't allow anything else to have a shot.
Having said that - 5.8m is the sort of figure Corrie and EastEnders have been getting lately and no one seems to be questioning their future, so...

How many more lessons need to be leart before the show cannot recover at all?”
I think one joke act is fine but 2 was clearly pushing it too far. Honey G is at least kind of interesting in the "is she real or not?" sense which is why I can see her lasting a couple more weeks yet. Brattavio were talentless, unlikeable and unfunny though. They may as well have not bothered and I think they have cost them a few viewers this year.
