To be fair there have been a lot of accusations of Darcey having a tipple or two on the Strictly forum.

I wonder if XF/TVUK etc decline is less to do with tv than the music scene. Admittedly, I'm getting older, but in the past, I knew what was number one in the charts even if I didn't follow them.

Especially since TOTP ended, there's no real mass media showcase for what's in or out in the charts. Plus no-one really breaking out and making a buzz. When singing shows are based around success with no forum to show what is or isn't popular in music, I can understand why their viewers are declining - no visible prize.

Not everyone thinks it's a good thing they're pissed and their allowed to express it without being patronised by you

I think it's a ratings thread, numbers will come in and people will comment on why they're high or low. Happened with Doctor Who, EastEnders, Christmas Day, Strictly, X Factor, BGT, ITV News, Poldark, Downton, Call The Midwife and numerous others.

We've had an unusually high number today because of the unusually low X Factor number.

It's what we've done here for nearly a decade.

If she has I haven't noticed. She's been the same way since she started on Strictly to me.

Well yes, and I'm entitled to say it's good just as much as all the vocal majority who agree with you on this thread.
Every time I post I get "you're patronising", "you're trying to police the thread", "you don't tolerate others' opinions" -the latter being extremely hypocritical. It's getting a bit silly, don't you think? If you don't like my opinion then put me on your ignore list. I'm allowed to dispute whichever points I like.

I thought she was a bit tipsy in the main show.

Nobody seems to know. The contract ran out and it seems nobody got round to renewing it. Seems C4's commissioning policies were just as bonkers in the 90s as they are now.

You really do tell people to lighten up and get over things far too often. I've just put on last Saturday's show and seen Sharon cover up Nicole's breasts. Cringey and I'm levitating.

For a bit of context BARB's current Network Universe is 14.532m 16-34s in the UK.

So 10% of them for XFactor. 6.4% for SCD.

TXF circus rolls on I see. The show is pretty much dead to me. Louis and Sharon are completely useless mentors but I find them hilarious along with Nicole. The judges are the only thing entertaining about this year imo.

Baffled by the comments about the quality of the guests stars though. Little Mix "scraping the barrel"? They're one of the biggest pop acts in the world right now. Oh and the song they just debuted as a world exclusive on TXF has gone to #1 on iTunes already.

Having now watched last week's shows I'm inclined to agree with you. I didn't know half of the songs which didn't help when four of the acts (two boys and two girls) are so forgettable and mediocre. The Voice should avoid the problem by going older.

Oh and I found Sharon too OTT and the most entertaining performance to be by HoneyG.

It's odd that Simon finds 'the guy with a guitar' act so dull when that's what sells so well. James Arthur and Niall Horan being the latest.

ps .. And I see from my earlier post that it took me about 80 minutes to watch both shows.

I wonder if The Halcyon will launch in January or will ITV wait until late February/early March? I reckon they'll put Endeavour against Sherlock then launch The Halcyon on 29th January with The Durrells at 8pm

Did you mean objectivity? It wouldn't hurt in your posts either.

Is this the first year of the new deal or is that next series? Because with the live show declines it's going to look little better than the rest of ITV's input at this rate. Is Simon going to make wholesale changes again next year? What more can he do?

Excellent for Strictly though neither show really took advantage of the smaller clash.”

I'd say Strictly did as it went up.

ITV will probably put Halcyon up against Silent Witness or Sherlock just so they can fire a clean shot in to Halcyon's knee before the race.

X Factor up over a million on the performance show which is great. SCD results down on last week though!

You have to say what your predictions were now Lewie, you can't tease us like that!

A relief for X Factor I think after the low of Saturday. I'm surprised it was up on last week. Hopefully it can hold that. Another excellent number for Strictly and it boosted the shows around it.

Decent start for Tutankhamun, I expected a lot worse. Was it any good? I imagine it's the sort of thing ITV will sell around the world as well. It's a solid start and wasn't far behind Poldark, which didn't really benefit from the lack of Victoria as ITV kept a reasonable amount of pressure on.

3.1m for The Crystal Maze. That is excellent.

They were rubbish, that is all

Out by 1m for Poldark, predicted high for Strictly and low for XF.

Better for X Factor. I think the show really needs to avoid the Strictly clashes tbh.

It's amazing how they managed to grab back a million viewers and lost them all due to the decisions made at Judges Houses. Is it time a completely new team was behind the show? New producers would be good for the show I think.
