While 800,000 is terrible and also very funny because it's to do with Tom Bradby
it is telling that thing else on the channels at 8pm shot up in the ratings. People weren't bothered about tuning in en masse. This is my point about channels happily chugging along with a guaranteed 4/5m in a slot when they could be more adventurous and bring more viewers to a slot.

Monday nights on BBC1 this Autumn have been bloody awful.
Mind-numbing factual with confused looking Hollywood guests on The One Show followed by local factual in your area, then you have hard hitting factual with Panorama after EastEnders followed by issue factual at 9pm. Bloody awful. Put a drama on.

Totally agree, starting with the awful weekly Crimewatch and then random factual since then at 9, including a BBC3 Reggie Yates documentary. For one of the most popular nights of the week, it's been pitiful. Planet Earth II can't come fast enough (which I can't wait for.) Although I do think Inside Out is okay for 7.30, it still gets 3.5 million.

Is it one of those moments when viewers watching BBC News, loose the control down the side of the sofa, spend half an hour looking for it, before flicking over?
I notice BBC 6pm news reverted back to its usual levels.
Reading up on reviews, ITV drama HIM tonight looks like it could be quite good, and something quite different for an ITV drama.
Its one of those dramas that are called out that ITV (and other channels, but mainly ITV) should be doing more of, not endless crime.
But I suspect like with anything 'different' it'll flop against The Missing. I'd be surpised if its gets anything over 3m tbh.

I think Wednesday or Thursday at 8pm, It's 5 episodes so I assume it'll be done and dusted before Christmas with the remaining 5 episodes in January

Strong for Emmerdale and rising from Monday's episode too. Hope it can come close to 7m for the 8pm Thursday episode. Also decent for EE too.

Then that would make a TV Ratings thread to be a thread where people rate what was on TV. That's basically the rest of the forum.
It's also fair to say that this thread is a bit of a catch-all TV thread rather than just a numbers thread. For TV the term 'ratings' has tended to be used. For film it's 'box-office'. For music it is 'charts'. And for books it is 'beatsellers'
If someone asks how a film rated it is fair to say that people will be talking about grades. But if you ask how a TV show rated it is accepted that they're talking about viewership.
Why the difference? Maybe it is because you buy books, records and films whereas TV is normally free. When it comes to something like PPV programming - well that is known as 'buys'.
Oh and the internet uses 'hits' and 'impression'.
Why would you shove a politics show at 8-00PM against Holby City? I think people are a bit choked of politics at the moment with the aftermath of Brexit and the uncertainties with amongst the main political parties.
I'm sorry but ITV NEED to put effort in. They've probably got a bigger budget than all the other channels, yet don't use it. Sorry but there needs to be strict rules to stop channels giving up the ghost and some sort of fines for them for not entertaining the public.

Is ITV doing those shows again in the run-up to Xmas where a star sings some of their own songs plus the odd Xmas song to an audience? I ask because Buble is normally one of them.
It always strikes me as being perfect for the Xmas period for both ITV and the artist. Especially after XF.
