My Freeview has 2 Olympic RB channels. One starts at 7pm which is when CBeebies closes down for the night and the other starts at 9pm which is when CBBC closes down.

Bit of a poor service (and don't know why they couldn't have closed CBBC at 7pm just for a fortnight). Fortunately I also have Freesat downstairs and Sky upstairs.

Well, I was watching some of the Freeview RB streams in the afternoon!

Maybe you were referring to channel 114, the BBC Olympic HD channel?

Or, come to think of it, there are more RB streams on one of the temporary muxes.

Out of interest do you know for certain that Sky are paying for them this time?

No. All I do know is that Sky's UHD channel was on one of their spot beam transponders and a couple of weeks ago it moved to a European beam and was replaced by BBC Olympic HD RB streams.

Fair assumption.

If you have a Freeview HD TV, re-tune it and you'll get all day live streams on channels 600 to 608. Freeview SD tuners don't seem to get these channels though.

BBC1 seems to be a bit too much of a pick & mix channel with presenters and studio chat popping up far too often. The live streams are a much easier watch, where you just get the commentators on the sport you actually want and with no interruptions. They must be adding a fair bit to the headline BBC1 ratings. Have to admit last night I did flick to BBC1 HD for the swimming though, so I could watch the post race interviews with some of the swimmers, which aren't shown on the live stream. My God, those 3 swimming presenters/pundits really grate on you when your knackered at 3am.

So about 5.9m from BBC1 & BBC4 through primetime, plus however many were on the live streams (across all platforms), shall we say 7m-8m in total for an average through primetime? I think we'll see bigger ratings to come later in the week when our gold medal chances get going. The track cycling for example at 8pm Thursday and on the following few days could be huge. I remember at the London Games BBC3 was getting over 4million at one point for the diving, whilst the Athletics were doing big numbers on BBC1 at the same time.

Wentworth beginning to look like one of the most successful channel switches ever. I had a feeling this might happen - it may not be the most watched show, but those that watch it are very very passionate about it and wouldn't desert it off the back of it moving channels. OK, a few hundred thousand have, but the retention is starting to look mightily impressive:

Quote:
“WENTWORTH PRISON (TUE 2200) 658,000”

Additionally, it was the 18th most watched programme on the digital channels all week.

Viacom deserves a lot of credit for turning around 5Star in no time at all. It's now beginning to forge its own identity and have genuine hits of its own.
