I do wonder if the BBC will stick to having EastEnders on BBC One splitting the schedule. Good rating for the Olympics.

EE was third in the soap battle? Granted the Olympics dented it, but it was such as strong episode! No doubt it will hemorrhage a lot of viewers tonight with the pointless ED clashes.

Poor for CBB but I guess the Olympics dented it.
That's bad for Eden! I didn't object to them removing him by the way, but there is no consistency and it feels as though Stephen Bear could do just about anything and they'd find a way to justify keeping him in there, and that's the problem. They want as much controversy as possible, then shy away from it when it suits them, mindful of keeping up appearances with Ofcom and so even though there may have been legitimate reasons for removing Biggins, it just looked asburd in the context of the general mayhem which is ensuing on that show at the moment and going almost completely unpunished. Eden won't be coming back with those numbers I wouldn't have thought, it's been a pretty disappointing rater to say the least considering the hype. |

Eden's promotion was everywhere, I couldn't watch a YouTube video without it popping up, I'm sure they will be very disappointed. However i was sure last nights episode was the last one until Autumn? Is that right? |

Shame about the CBB rating as it was probably the best show of this series so far last night.
I haven't been a fan of this series. The civilian BB for me was miles better. But last nights show was by far my favourite of the series. |

Possibly. We will see, i can't see the shows overnights improving much against the Olympics (depending on what events are on as obviously some are bigger pullers than others). I'd say it would be at 1.6m+ tonight.
Also, providing he doesn't walk Ricky Norwood looks an outstanding bet to win the thing now he's speaking up more and not being left out of the edit. Marnie's odds are quite rightly drifting - whilst that result might be to Viacom's liking, she doesn't have the likeability of Charlotte or the wit of Vicky to follow in their footsteps. |

I understand and appreciate that they don't want to knock is around and feel it needs protection - but they could have minimised disruption by rolling a few hour longs together across the fortnight and maybe just dropping an episode or two if needs be. |

Can't really criticise EastEnders and the second Coronation St for taking a bit of a hit against the diving. They both did rather well considering the massive jump in the Olympics ratings from 8-9pm, after the highlights and chat at 7pm.

Would be really appreciated. |

Wonder if one of the TV critics who read this thread watched This Morning today.
I can picture their captions to a scene where Ruth was out on the embankment doing an item on new season skirts when the tech problems that they have had quite a lot of lately struck again, For a few seconds they accidentally cut back to a camera shot of Eamonn in the studio stuffing his face on food whilst waiting for Ruth's item to conclude and unaware he was 'live' to the nation. |

There's a big medal chance in a canoe slalom event for GB at 7:15pm tonight. The British guy is set to go off at 7:25pm.
Now, surely, if they have any sense, Eastenders will be delayed until 8pm? It would also prevent the Emmerdale clash. I'm certainly not expecting it to happen though, not least because it'd mess up BBC Two's schedule for the night. |

I'm surprised EE didn't do a bit better but if the diving did switch to BBC2 at 20.00 then that could be the reason for the lower than usual Monday rating. The second Corrie was affected more. They've all had a tough few months. What with the Euros and now the Olympics and to some degree, the tennis too. Hopefully once September starts, I'm hoping they can all start to build a bit. Corrie has a lot to prove over the next few months to try and win some of those lost viewers back. |

Maybe they've finally come to their senses. A show that only managed 4 million viewers in the cushiest Saturday primetime slot, when it was on the biggest channel, is not worthy of a £30 million investment. Maybe the child version will be scaled back or scrapped also. |
