Maybe they've finally come to their senses.
A show that only managed 4 million viewers in the cushiest Saturday primetime slot, when it was on the biggest channel, is not worthy of a £30 million investment. Maybe the child version will be scaled back or scrapped also.
It's not even had it's first series on ITV, so just give it a chance. I'm slightly confused as to why you continually go after The Voice.

Ask yourself this. Is it a savvy business move to invest £30 million in a show after it dropped 2 million viewers YOY? Past data is all we have to go on, and the fact that adverts may bring the ratings down further on ITV.

Does a show, the final of which only scraped 5 million consolidated, deserve a blockbuster talent show budget? It's not a dig at the Voice, just observing the data which makes the investment seem a tad questionable.

The Olympics are rating better than I expected and will hurt all other channels for the major events. CBB will probably pick up a bit over the next few nights, it's certainly not a dull series and much better watch than UK v USA last year, even if Biggins' removal has left a bit of a sour taste in the mouth for some.

Also, providing he doesn't walk Ricky Norwood looks an outstanding bet to win the thing now he's speaking up more and not being left out of the edit. Marnie's odds are quite rightly drifting - whilst that result might be to Viacom's liking, she doesn't have the likeability of Charlotte or the wit of Vicky to follow in their footsteps.
Is there ever a series of Big Brother that doesn't leave a sour taste. It constantly seems to be in the gutter, and every series I hear stories on here of such and such being removed for inappropriate conduct.

It's made in the gutter for folks who like their tv to be there. It amazing how some folks get outraged when it's just more of the same each series.

If GB's medal hopes continue to be dashed, I can't see the Olympics continuing with the decent ratings. People will get fed up. I certainly don't think we'll win more than half a dozen gold medals this time around. Part of the problem though is the way the media keeps bigging up the competitors as if we are somehow entitled for them to win a medal for us. It gets tedious when they fail.

IMO the civilian version just gone was one of my favourites in a while for a normal one, and the January version of CBB was great. The media hates BB so they only post the bad/controversial stuff. The people who don't watch it have such a bad opinion on it, but what they don't see is the other parts. But the media won't post any happy stuff as they hate it so much. I reckon if a lot of viewers watched it now, they'd be surprised at how, well, not awful it is. Especially the last 2 series.

However this summer one feels like I'm being punched in the chest and feeling winded.

Please don't take offence by what I'm about to say but I did watch two episodes of CBB when I stayed at my friends house who is a big fan. I tried to keep an open mind but I had to surmise the following:

If I did not know what BB was, or I had arrived here from another planet, I would think it was a punishment for morons. It is mind numbingly embarrassing, it is full of contrived, staged claptrap, and frankly is solely responsible for the dumbing down of quality programmes. It is shameful to actually know it exists and pays a large part as to why society is full of thick idiots who thinks a tweet counts as a genuine vote in the referendum (yes, that actually happened). I hold BB, XFactor and I'm a Celebrity (which is CBB in the jungle but with a twist) wholly responsible.

I appreciate you are a long term fan so clearly see it differently to me. But, for anyone to call it entertainment or enjoyable says a great deal about the state of our society. The sooner it's axed, the better. It is a blot on the television landscape.

Well the track cycling will happen in our prime time and we usually do pretty well there

We had this exact same discussion at the exact same point of the last Olympics. And as mentioned, we already have more medals now than we did then.

Other sports may be a bit iffy but the swimmers are having their best games for decades.

I can see them becoming permanent again before long. There's been loads recently for no reason.

I am sure that ITV have previous form on this during the late summer with Emmerdale. You do have to feel for the team behind the show knocking out these extra episodes. Six episodes a week are a lot but upping this to seven must be incredibly taxing.

Has anyone seen any recent figures for GMB ? With their regular presenters away and most of their Olympic coverage being over stills I suspect they might be in trouble.
