Remember this is the Radio Times, the place that put Pointless Celebrities above X Factor in its 'Best Shows On Today' section. I think that's enough for anyone not to take it remotely seriously.
Only one columnist in that rag says anything positive about Syco, and that's Emma Daly- http://www.radiotimes.com/authors/emma-daly/ - she's pretty great, but they need more than one great writer for me to take them seriously. The only 'great' writer is the one that likes Syco? What absolute shite. I take them seriously, and enjoy many of the website's/magazine's features. |

Looks like ITV's late night chat show will be airing after IAC, going off a post in the broadcasting forum about a new chat show being shot in a London theatre.
This might just give the show a fighting chance. Depends who the host is. It's going to have to be brilliant to stop everybody turning over for the BBC News. Quote:
Not good news for IAC's spinoff, the new title of which I've already forgotten.

Some ratings for The Walking Dead's simulcast on Fox.
Liam Hamilton (@LiamHamilton16) tweeted at 4:18 p.m. on Tue, Oct 25, 2016: Zombie lovers congregate for launch of series 7 of #WalkingDead on Fox, 800k audience at 9pm, & another 500k+ for 2.30am simulcast with US (https://twitter.com/LiamHamilton16/s...054542848?s=09) Figure he quotes for 2:30am is misleading - we know the vast majority of those will be VOSDAL viewers. |

Apparently the IAC spin off is a new format this year. It'll either be a hit, or be like that time when Kelly Osbourne hosted it, where it returns to the previous format the following year.
In any case how many watch the spin off? 10%? 15%?, there are still loads of viewers available. Quote:
Indeed, particularly as the spinoff struggled last year. It'll have to suck it up though, Xtra Factor has had to for years. The new chatshow should be the priority.
The new chat show is up against it on paper and cleverer people than I think a nightly chat show can't work here but with the support of IAC it has more of a chance than it ordinarily would. Interesting as well to see if C4 react in any way. It's going to affect them more than most whether it's a hit or not, with the likes of The Last Leg likely to be affected if they keep their schedule as it is. |

So is ITV's new nightly chat show airing at 22:00 then? I thought they were going Late Late Night like in America? I suspect it will be:
21:00 - I'm a Celebrity 22:00 - chat show 22:30 - ITV News But I wonder if we could see: 21:00 - I'm a Celebrity 22:00 - ITV News 22:30 to 23:30 - chat show |

Paxo on The Agenda tonight. Be interesting to see if he shifts that rating.
Wonder if Bradby's intimidated?

I think its great that ITV is trying out something different after IAC. Its good to mix up the schedule. And besides even if it flops, it can't do any worse than ITV News at 10pm when viewers jst automatically turn to BBC1.
I think this Chat show it would be nice to see a variety of hosts like: Dawn French, David Walliams, Bradley Walsh, Paul O'Grady, Harry Hill - they could really push the guest list, given its going to be given a 9m lead in. This is where ITV should be utilising their big shows. BGT for next year neds to find a new hit to follow on after. But please no TOWIE reality star rubbish!! And not Joey Essex. Make this chat show a bit more high brow than an ITV2 panel show. I'm A Celeb Extra Camp I don't think would be doing very well even if it didn't face the above. I don't think the changes are very popular, particularly as Joe Swash is still on it. |

Another record breaking launch is the key point to take from that.
Figure he quotes for 2:30am is misleading - we know the vast majority of those will be VOSDAL viewers. Also, why doesn't the 500k 2.30am showing appear in the ITV.com Digital top ten? Do they not include two showings of the same programme? |

If they could make stuff that goes viral and makes money that way (a la Corden), ratings won't be so important. |

An interesting article in the RadioTimes, which basically emulates the feeling on here at the moment with X Factor:
http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-...ith-the-series The fake jukebox is really the symbol of the shows fakery. Strictly appears far more genuine, which is perhaps why it's doing better. I'm an X Factor viewer, but it's getting a bit ridiculous. The judges nudging each other for controversial/funny moments is getting a bit boring. It personally gets to a certain point where I can no longer turn my eye to the fakery, as it starts to insult my intelligence. I don't think it's a big deal because it's a fluff celebrity show like IAC or CBBro but it's still TV fakery. When Strictly's ratings start to slide you can betcha this will become an example for why the show is 'in crisis'. |

That's odd. It isn't as if it has benefited hugely since it finished. Even against a fairly ropey drama in Tut. It's gone up a bit, but hardly pulling up any trees at this point.
Maybe Victoria did the damage early on and that's that, a recovery is unlikely and moving it elsewhere seems a waste of time. Privately they will be quite disappointed with it I'd imagine. A high rating drama certainly at least in 2016 terms, and very dependable, but it's not going to live up to the promise it showed in its first series. Sorry to disturb. Felt the need to share... |

Strictly isn't exactly telling viewers how much dance training some celebrities have had prior to joining the show.

I mentioned it earlier - it'll be very interesting. I'd imagine Planet Earth will win the first week at least and possibly every single week (maybe except the XF Final). It should certainly win every week in the consolidated figures as the results don't timeshift much.

Well it's looking like Planet Earth will stay in that slot for its duration. An advanced screening of the drama My mother and other strangers is being shown this Thursday. Its five parts and is apparently destined for Sunday in November. This one seems to gone under the radar.not heard much about it at all.
Set in Northern Ireland during World War Two, My Mother and Other Strangers follows the fortunes of the Coyne family and their neighbours as they struggle to maintain a normal life after a huge United States Army Air Force (USAAF) airfield with 4,000 service men and women lands in the middle of their rural parish in 1943. At the heart of the series is an ongoing love story that enfolds Rose and her husband Michael Coyne in a dangerous love triangle with a handsome and charming USAAF liaison officer, Captain Dreyfuss. Owen McDonnell (Single-Handed) plays Michael and Aaron Staton (Mad Men) plays Captain Dreyfuss. Meanwhile, the Coyne’s children, 16-year-old Emma (Eileen O’Higgins, Brooklyn), Francis, 10, and Kate, seven, have no idea of the strains under which their parents’ marriage creaks. New day for Supergirl this time around (previously series 1 aired on Friday nights). It might hold up a bit better here, and much better that The CW is now in charge of it, as it always should have been anyway. I've still got the last 3 of Flash to watch and 2 of SG from last season's so no summer break for me. I just need Agents of Shield to start now. |

Filming has begun in Northern Ireland on BBC One’s new drama series My Mother And Other Strangers, written by Barry Devlin (Ballykissangel, Darling Buds Of May) and with a cast led by Hattie Morahan (The Outcast, Beauty And The Beast) as Rose Coyne.
