I mentioned it earlier - it'll be very interesting. I'd imagine Planet Earth will win the first week at least and possibly every single week (maybe except the XF Final). It should certainly win every week in the consolidated figures as the results don't timeshift much.

If this is true that's a great way to launch it. Definitely gives it the best chance possible. Best time of year for getting guests as well. I presume it'll only be a short tun though. I'm surprised this hasn't leaked earlier.


Indeed, particularly as the spinoff struggled last year. It'll have to suck it up though, Xtra Factor has had to for years. The new chatshow should be the priority.

Figure he quotes for 2:30am is misleading - we know the vast majority of those will be VOSDAL viewers.

Given all the changes to IAC's ITV2 show, maybe they have found a new slot for it anyway? Best kept apart if possible.

The new chat show is up against it on paper and cleverer people than I think a nightly chat show can't work here but with the support of IAC it has more of a chance than it ordinarily would.

Interesting as well to see if C4 react in any way. It's going to affect them more than most whether it's a hit or not, with the likes of The Last Leg likely to be affected if they keep their schedule as it is.

So is ITV's new nightly chat show airing at 22:00 then? I thought they were going Late Late Night like in America? I suspect it will be:

21:00 - I'm a Celebrity
22:00 - chat show
22:30 - ITV News

But I wonder if we could see:

21:00 - I'm a Celebrity
22:00 - ITV News
22:30 to 23:30 - chat show

The UK is different from the US; 10pm is basically late night.

I think it's a certainty that the new show will be at 10pm. 10m as a lead in at 10pm as a opposed to 1.5m at 10:30.

If you're a good boy/girl they give you Silent Witness for Christmas (though you won't be able to open it until January, of course).

I think its great that ITV is trying out something different after IAC. Its good to mix up the schedule. And besides even if it flops, it can't do any worse than ITV News at 10pm when viewers jst automatically turn to BBC1.

I think this Chat show it would be nice to see a variety of hosts like: Dawn French, David Walliams, Bradley Walsh, Paul O'Grady, Harry Hill - they could really push the guest list, given its going to be given a 9m lead in.

This is where ITV should be utilising their big shows. BGT for next year neds to find a new hit to follow on after.

But please no TOWIE reality star rubbish!! And not Joey Essex. Make this chat show a bit more high brow than an ITV2 panel show.

I'm A Celeb Extra Camp I don't think would be doing very well even if it didn't face the above. I don't think the changes are very popular, particularly as Joe Swash is still on it.

And the likes of you, me and Cylon who watched the on demand version (at 44mins we'd only count as 3/4 of a viewer!!).

It sounds a bit more high brow than ITV 2/Be. I don't think there will be any reality stars.

If ITV could get James Corden to do one show, that would be a start. If they could make stuff that goes viral and makes money that way (a la Corden), ratings won't be so important.

The Radio Times always is the very top quality TV listings magazine, and says it as it is.

I am only surprised that they had the X Factor anywhere near the best shows section. Pointless celebrities gets more viewers.

Your devotion to XF should be acknowledged by Simon, I hope he pays well. All other XF supports have given up supporting the proverbial dead horse.

They don't review shows based on the number of viewers, the Radio Times in particular reviews niche fayre, and they of course show a dislike for soaps on all channels.

Strictly isn't exactly telling viewers how much dance training some celebrities have had prior to joining the show.
I don't think it's a big deal because it's a fluff celebrity show like IAC or CBBro but it's still TV fakery.

When Strictly's ratings start to slide you can betcha this will become an example for why the show is 'in crisis'.

In reference to Poldark, as a fan of the first series I have found this series a little disappointing. I've enjoyed it but nowhere near as much as series 1. I've not re-watched any of the episodes, and the marketing has been terrible. I'm really not surprised that the figures are down and that it hasn't attracted new viewers. It's such a shame as it could have been great, but it's just been *shrugs* ok.

Actually they're usually pretty up front about it. Very often the celeb will fess to doing ballet as a child or some such in the initial profile interview. If they don't do it for trained actors it's because it's pretty much a given that at some point they will have had some experience of stage dancing (not, contrary to popular opinion, that that in any way resembles the codified dancing they do in Strictly).

Thanks for these. Emmerdale keeping close to 7m after last week's solid numbers. Corrie's first episode did very well despite the drop-off for the second episode. Corrie hasn't felt like Corrie for a long time IMO. I think the writing is a major problem for it. Someone mentioned on here last week how during their stunt, they felt very little the characters involved and the fate they suffered. Whereas with Emmerdale last week, all our favourite characters were in a whole lot of danger and you really felt for the characters before the eventual Friday reveal. That's the difference. Emmerdale has an excellent cast and the show as a lot of heart. It really makes you care about the characters. Corrie, at this moment in time is the direct opposite, despite that 7.5m rating.

Solid end for Cold Feet though. Loved every second of it. Fantastic show!


New day for Supergirl this time around (previously series 1 aired on Friday nights). It might hold up a bit better here, and much better that The CW is now in charge of it, as it always should have been anyway.


Yes, the 500k+ for the 2.30am of those watching live would have been very small. I recorded that episode purely so I could watch it as soon as I got home last night. But I didn't really need to record it as it bizarrely appeared On Demand, even before the 9pm showing. Looks like a one-off thing anyway as it reverts back to just the 9pm showing next Monday.

Overnights matter little for sky shows like this. Putting it together with Arrowverse is overdue. All three should pull in 500k all in.
I've still got the last 3 of Flash to watch and 2 of SG from last season's so no summer break for me. I just need Agents of Shield to start now.

Could My Mother And Other Strangers become a returning series? Might be wasted in November.
