Good start, but I think it can grow from there. Personally watched Liverpool v Tottenham live and then New Lives at 10pm. Think the football may have taken some viewers away.

However, very disappointed the awful Married at First Sight came out slightly ahead. No justice there.

Even Channel 4's technical problems couldn't drag The Agenda up to a respectable number. Nor could an appearance from Jeremy Paxman.

Oh dear how embarrasing beaten by bbc2, ch5 and partly by ch4 they would be better off showing a film or a repeat of midsummer murders or something would get around 2m to 2.5m id of thought.

Is that inc +1 and HD ?

I like The Agenda - but its too bitty with too many breaks.

It deserved more though- you think it would attract the people who watch Question Time.

What a night for BBC2! Everything over 2 million. Fantastic retention for Autumnwatch and glad to see Railway Journeys go out on a series high. They have a great schedule this week with Great British Menu propping everything up from the 7pm slot, sadly when that finishes it's back to repeats at that time.

I was hoping for more with Ben Fogle especially with the lead in from the Yorkshire Vet which is doing great, still a good figure however.

Not a good rating there.”

Very disappointing. BBC1 really struggling with drama this autumn.

Is that lower than last week? It's a shame because it was actually a decent show last night with some good guests. I find Tom Bradby a bit uncomfortable in that role though, lacking in gravitas.

Dire for The Agenda as expected. Deserved more though, it had a good panel.

So sad that tonight is the last proper GBBO. 😟

Trying out something out like this, in the Tuesday death slot was a complete waste of time.

ITV is not like BBC1 where if you move something earlier, or switch channel is gains from a primetime spot.

Viewers will just not watch something like this with adverts. This is where the BBC has the immediate advatage. Why watch The Agenda with 15minutes of ads, when you can watch Question Time without.

So according to Broadcast, this new stripped chat show on ITV is being piloted for a 10-part run, but will not be shown on TV.

Its in preperation for a 40-part run next year.

I think this is a sensible idea. No point piloting it on TV only for it to be untested, get a bad responce, then tarnish the brand. Viewers are unforgiving. Particuarly on a commercial channel.

It's getting nearer!

Was thinking, would BBC 1 be bold to launch Peter Kay's Car Share on Christmas night? Or keep it for after New Year? I'm sure it's finished filming.

And do we know if they have the rights to Frozen (or indeed any other channel)? That would do very well.

A good idea. Heard a rumour that it launches the week in January when ITV have their new 9pm shows.

But they're already watching Question Time, why do they need to watch another one that's the same but not as good? And they're also doing it at 10.45, and you expect different things at 10.45 than you do at eight o'clock.

Yes, it is with +1 and HD. It didn't come last in the hour, because C4 across the hour had 757,000. So it can beat a broken programme, at least.

Re the Bake Off, is the BBC still doing a Christmas special as announced a few months ago, or has that idea been dropped?

The last thing that I read was that there were two specials of Bake Off that were filmed just after completion of the current series. The same discussion implied that the BBC could hold one of them back until New Years Day 2017, which would then in turn cause a further headache for Channel 4. The next series would then have to be shown (if the contract clause is enacted) one year from the final episode, which would push the next regular series into late 2018. If Channel 4 wanted it to be shown at the same time of year, it would mean nearly a 2 year gap between series. (That was all online banter/discussion/speculation with the timing from what I can remember)

Of course that would be very naughty. Not sure how that would work with the charity version that was mentioned.

I hope the BBC make it as difficult as possible for Channel 4.

The Bake Off I know and love is ruined.

That's double what Supergirl got last night and is what I expected all 3 CW shows to consolidate to. Flash is the best show so maybe its more a case of people being eager to see it and facing lighter competition.

It is also worth remembering that tens of thousands of potential viewers will be catching Doctor Strange at the picturehouse.

Yorkshire Vet and NWITW did solidly, i think 5 will be very pleased. Channel 4+1 really does help prop up Channel 4 more than 5+1

Who are these guests who want to appear on a chat show that won't air?
You'd think they'd screen it on itv2 or Hub.

Next Tuesday ITV shows the PoBritain Awards. It'll be interesting to see how this compares to the flop zone and how it affects Holby and OL. I assume ITV will start making an effort now Xmas tv adverts are a few days from launching.

BBC News at One said C4 probably wouldn't be able to show Bake Off until 2018 ''for contractual reasons.''But the BBC are trailing a new series of Junior Bake Off so I assume that's a separate contract.

C4 surely would show GBBO in January 2018 when viewing audiences are as high as they ever are. They then show season 2 from mid-October for the Xmas cash-in with future celebrity versions screening in the period covering Mother's Day and Easter.

The BBC won't stop a GBBO tie in with SUTCancer for obvious reasons so GBBO should be back next autumn.

For those who missed it, the boss of Netflix confirmed that they would have grabbed Bake Off if C4 hadn't picked it up.
