Only a drop of 120,000 for Borderline. Maybe a few repeats will find it a fanbase.
That drop seems quite a large one. Also it only retained ~20% of the audience of the show above it, which I think is close to a record. 10,000BC was getting slaughtered for only getting half a million behind BB's 1.1m-1.2m at the time, so 380k behind 1.7m is pretty shocking. It may climb to the 450k range when it doesn't face Olympics, but it's still disappointing. |

Didn't it start at almost 600k last week?

I am sure that ITV have previous form on this during the late summer with Emmerdale. You do have to feel for the team behind the show knocking out these extra episodes. Six episodes a week are a lot but upping this to seven must be incredibly taxing.

Has anyone seen any recent figures for GMB ? With their regular presenters away and most of their Olympic coverage being over stills I suspect they might be in trouble.

C4 comedies normally start out with around 800,000 or less nowadays and they have a stronger history of successful comedy output, so half a million would seem about right for a C5 comedy starting out. However C4 comedies are normally quite consistent at that sort of level (with the odd exception like Toast of London which I believe fell below 300,000 at one point) whereas Borderline lost a fair amount of ground in week 2 suggesting viewers weren't at all keen on it. And I think that's probably a fair enough verdict. It may have had slightly more chance of taking off if you excuse the pun had Ralf Little appeared in front of camera as well. It lacked a big name star. But that wasn't the only thing wrong with it by any means, and they need to aim higher if they want to have any chance of breaking into this genre. |

It was always going to be massively difficult for Borderline to find an audience.

Not at all but they must have very stiff competition from the BBC when GMB can hardly show any Olympics at all.I see GMB's sports presenter is actually in London while a news reporter is in Rio, bit of a strange decision.
Where are both of Breakfast's sports presenters? In Rio? At least their main presenter is presenting from Rio.,, |

Having your sports editor in the studio makes much more sense, plus he will be needed to cover the newsreader slot over the summer. |

Hahahahahahaha. Hahahahaha! What an absurdly low rating one of the lowest I have ever seen on here!
It wasn't a good day for the digital channels in general yesterday with the Olympics having a major impact across the board - Dave didn't top 160,000 all evening, Sky1 maxed out at 210,000 and Sky Living was under 110,000 all night. |

Not really, having a reporter live in Rio 1am local time adds little to the actual coverage. It just makes the viewer feel closer to the action.

The BBC sports editor is in Rio and produced an exclusive interview with Usain Bolt this morning, that is the purpose of having him on location and not in a studio back in London.Something amiss when you don't send your sports reporter to the biggest sports event in four years.

Why do people get aerated over a show that pulls in just 500k?

9pm Reality Shows - inc. +1 channels
Eden (C4): 790,000 / 3.5% series low Celebrity Big Brother (C5): 1.4m / 6.4% Source: Broadcast worst episode so far imo i'd guess quite a few viewers turn off in the first quarter of the show not seen any of cbb so can't comment on that 1.4 |

![]() Anyway, CBB did well, looks closer to a winter rating rather than a summer one. |
