If GB's medal hopes continue to be dashed, I can't see the Olympics continuing with the decent ratings. People will get fed up. I certainly don't think we'll win more than half a dozen gold medals this time around. Part of the problem though is the way the media keeps bigging up the competitors as if we are somehow entitled for them to win a medal for us. It gets tedious when they fail.
Way of the world these days. Stoking up blind belief that UK will win. As you say when they start to see failure the tide will turn. Far more serious issues though facing UK where this phenomenon applies.

You were the one making sarcastic comments towards ftv, it seems you are getting more aerated than anybody else. 😂

Anyway, CBB did well, looks closer to a winter rating rather than a summer one.
If I was the GMB sports reporter and didn't get to Rio because they wanted me reading the news in London I think I'd be pretty hacked off and looking for employment elsewhere. If you don't get to the Olympics where do you get ?

not surprised by the eden rating
worst episode so far imo
i'd guess quite a few viewers turn off in the first quarter of the show

not seen any of cbb so can't comment on that 1.4
That was Monday's episode, CBB got 1.7m last night, so that's a good rating.

IMO it is not a very good series and it's a shame that the normal version was cut down.

Olympics primetime ratings for BBC4 look very healthy.

Looks as though ITV will be running a nightly quiz that week: Mon 9pm, Tue, Wed, Thu 8pm. I'll have the Ratings Thread sage and onion on standby, in case it's ratings turkey.

What's it called? Sounds like someone has seen it and it's being burnt off

Mike Bushell and Sally Nugent are watching the Olympics from Salford. If anything they'd be more "hacked off" as the BBC are a rights holder so more likely to be sent to Rio.

It was stripped in the US too, where it did just about enough for a second series but probably not enough for a third.

I can't see it doing too well. They clearly aren't that confident if they're stripping it the week after the Olympics in August. It's hosted by Giles Coren who isn't a very 'ITV' choice at all. It sounds like a decent enough format (a proper quiz, which I don't think ITV have tried in primetime for a few years now) but I don't see why it has to be stripped, it'd probably be better weekly. Plus one episode faces the Bake Off launch so that'll get slaughtered.

On the flip side, the Monday 9pm slot is a nice cushy place to launch, with limited competition. They've also managed to engineer it so that it has a soap lead-in every day.

Still don't see it doing much. They could do with it doing alright as well as X Factor launches that weekend and it'd be nice for it to not have to reboot the ITV network for once (to be fair up until the Olympics they weren't having too bad a Summer, but they've obviously completely caved in now).

More bizarrely, ITV are also airing a one off 'Summer special' called Spotless on Saturday 20th which reads like a pilot. Not sure why they're showing a pilot, either it's rubbish but they just need a slot filler (although why not just air a repeat?) or they want to test the waters. But they won't get much of a reaction on a Saturday in August against the Olympics. It's all a bit odd.

I am sure that ITV have previous form on this during the late summer with Emmerdale. You do have to feel for the team behind the show knocking out these extra episodes. Six episodes a week are a lot but upping this to seven must be incredibly taxing.
There's no clash next week, there's an hour-long Emmerdale on Tuesday but no EE.

Laura Whitmore was announced today as the next Strictly Celeb, ticking another one of the usual boxes.

This means she won't be doing I'm a Celeb Now this year, so they will have to get someone else for that.

Hasn't she quit IACGMOOHN! already?

However there will be one the week after. If it wasn't for the BBC moving EE next week, that would be nine consecutive clashes!

In fact there appears to be a Tuesday and Thursday clash that week!

Vicky Patterson has previously mentioned she has been in "talks" to host it.

Somebody doesn't know their emojis very well do they? That's crying with laughter. Might want to get those specs tested.

Has she actually mentioned that her self or was it just written in The Sun?

I could definitely imagine her having a role, in a Joe Swash style role, but I couldn't see her hosting the whole thing.

Samia Gahdi (Maria) revealed that there was to be a big death of a well loved favourite character on Corrie now the new producer is in charge.

And that viewers would be in tears like she was when reading the script.

Today it was revealed that it is to be:
