When you say this thread is biased, that's nearly everyone saying XF is under performing and you alone trying hard with conviction to say everyone else is wrong in their observations?

Nosalgia ? 1/ Should go back to 2010. 2/ Is that why three judges are so old, sorry nostalgic?

I agree.

Excuse 101- People out at Halloween parties, all go out at exactly 8.20, or maybe barbecues? Next weeks excuse on low ratings......fireworks at 8.20.

This thread is not biased. Just because nobody else conforms to your extremism, it doesn't make the entire thread biased.

Let's get the rating before you climb onto your usual high horse and get personally excited by a TV rating...

Nah man, going beck to 2013 is fine. I was still overnighting 9m most weeks at that point after all.

It's starting to feel that way, but a shadow of it's former self. The best way for me to describe it is that XF feels empty to me these days.”

It's working well for me but it lacks outstanding singers but many prefer the package rather than singing excellence. It's not American Idol.
TBF SCD finished with Ed Balls and that's about the package rather than great dancing.

We've seen it all before on both shows (and BGT and IACGMOOH).

I was really loving the series earlier on and was championing it to the hilt on here, but something went wrong and I want to care, but I can't There are issues surrounding the live shows, but it's hard to pin point what. Also as I've said before the chair challenge was nasty viewing, and judges houses felt fixed and forced. It had felt rather authentic vintage XF before that.

I think scheduling might not help, Saturday and Sunday is quite an ordeal and commitment for younger viewers. Maybe next year stick to one of the two nights and air the results show later in the evening?

Maybe its because you've tuned in already having decided you'll hate it, so its no wonder you end up doing so.

So far we've had not enough effort, trying too hard too much effort, and slating the show because Simon has worn Halloween teeth, this thread sinks lower and lower by each passing week.

Neither do I, but I also get that feeling when the lives shows hit, it used to be my favorite part, but even with my favourite judge lineup, it just feels gone.

SCD audience will hold up well despite all of the Halloween partying and trick or treating that OAPs love to do...

I agree. They sorted the earlier stages out this year, next year the live shows need attention. With the new set next year it'll at least look fresher.

Maybe ditch six chairs and judges houses and do a live format to choose the final 12 with viewer/judge hybrid voting or something.

Actually Dan R, sorry Andy - I'm a fan of the show, and don't hate it. My criticisms have been largely the same each week, I've mentioned the forced chemistry/shoehorned 'funny' moments before.

The problem with The X Factor live shows appears to be that they're the live shows. Good production values but less popular than other stages of the programme. How can you reverse that? No idea. But it has been an issue since 2011?

How on earth is that an excuse?

An explanation more like, that you yourself pointed out

TXF is always lower at halloween, even back when it got 15m.

SCD and TXF do not have the same audience, over half of SCD's audience are over 65 and will have been sat in their favourite armchair since Celebrity Mastermind at 5pm.

Scoring by judges for talking points in the show? Viewer chosen songs? A new set would help. Ditch the themes as well.

There are lots of things they could do.

X Factor will get criticised whatever they do as long as the ratings aren't there. If they were flying they'd be praised for every little thing.

Agree, particularly on here it become 'trendy ' to hate certain shows if they've lost any viewers,

XF is the #1 trending on Xbox One TV Guide btw..

The X Factor has had the same set since 2008/2009. Strictly has had the same one since 2010. So a long time for both. If X Factor changed the floor of the stage it could look so much different. With Strictly, projecting images on the floor adds to the staging. I like how X Factor use their screens....but that stage floor is always the same.

I remember X Factor being slated on here for certain decisions even though the ratings were high. Don't remember every single post and point being argued over back & forth for several pages though. I'll have to check....when I literally have nothing better to do.

Simple changes would freshen X Factor up.

Next year X Factor will be moving studios, so there will finally be a new set.

Do you think X Factor might feature product placement?

Fountain Studios closes soon so XF has to have a new set from next year. Very much agree with your comments about the floor.

LED strips are always better than having a plain floor, even if it's possible to project images, IMO. Just a plain black floor (as it often ends up being) can be dull.
