I don't think so. I think viewers who don't watch IAC will automatically drift to a new drama on BBC1.

Humans will suffer more against IAC than the BBC1 drama, with a younger audience.

I imagine I will be proved wrong, but I don't think so. I think IAC will launch with 10.1m, and MM&OS will pull in 4-4.5m.

Its not very often ITV gets ratings like this for factual - in particular a factual series in that 8.30pm slot.

That is why I think ITV should be attempting to grow POG Dogs further into a 1hr slot.

If the romoyrs are to be believed I'm A Celebrity could have a very strong line-up.

Some names include: Larry Lamb, Anne Widdecomb, Scarlett Moffet and Tom Fletcher.

With each year, IAC needs to up its game because the lead in is getting lower and lower. TXF is no longer a support to IAC, its the other way around. Therefore keep a minimum of reality stars entering the jungle.

I personally think that would be a dangerous move (extending to an hour). But I wouldn't put it past them, but I can see where you're coming from.

I sort of like to protect shows that do well, which why I thought XF should have ended on a high, and I'm of the idea that this is a good year for Bake Off to leave BBC, while it's at it's height, so it will be remembered fondly. But we all know money rules these days.

Scarlett Moffet and Tom Fletcher are not my idea of a strong line up. Larry and Anne are, though.

IAC is overdue a strong line up, though, after a poor few years IMO.

Edit - Larry Lamb I know from Gavin and Stacey and the Sun has confirmed that he's in for £100k. Moffett is Gogglebox apparently and Fletcher is ex McFly.

So 2 out of 4 then are well known. I expect some Olympians who won't be especially famous but they'll be credible.

I agree great points. Bake off is at its peak, and really the astonishing viewing tigers couldn't go on, for Love Productions to con C4 otherwise is the second hand deal of the century.

XF should have ended around 2010 it's been downhill, nay off a cliff face since then, a parody of its former self. Ratings are dire and next week, Life on Earth 2 will damage it even more.

It still makes money though. What can't you understand about that?

Some people can see past money. No one said it didn't still make money. I even said that earlier today. But people just see XF as a laughing stock these days, something that used to be the talk of the nation and a must watch for people on a Saturday Night.

Whilst I agree the show is not what it used to be; X Factor is still talked about. If Simon Cowell drinks a glass of water it will make the tabloids.

Shows like these do help make money which in turn helps pay for 'quality' programmes.

For me IAC peaked with that Paul Burrell trial. I cried with laughter. Over tens years ago now.

And you get my vote to run C4 you would have to be better then the creative, nay poaching director Jay Hunt, who was a legend in her own extended lunchtime at the BBC.

XF has in the past achieved higher figures than all of the above, not too long ago, so I think you need to get a grip.

Can't believe Channel 5 did well with the same old ancient Peter Kay clips again, which were on BBC1 not very long ago. Kay really is ratings gold. Just stick on an old stand up routine and you double your audience share.

It's a bit of an over reaction to describe Tutankhamun as a complete disaster. You win some you lose some, it could have done worse, and with Victoria doing well, that's a 1/2 success rate. Something like Downton doesn't come around very often and if that was the benchmark then it was unattainable.

Agreed. For whatever reason, X Factor sends people on here insane. Why is it the only show that gets constantly bashed from people who supposedly don't watch it?

I'd say 50% of the rumoured line up is usually correct.

Larry Lamb is reported to have actually signed the deal, rather than just being rumoured to be going in.

It would be an interesting idea to try and find a C5 show for Russell whilst he has this ongoing relationship with Viacom. May even help his pay TV stuff along. Talking of which, great start for his most recent Comedy Central vehicle:

Well the Sun have been saying Carol Vordermann is in for weeks now, so we will see.

I thought she was flying solo around the world after taking her first solo flight live on This Morning! Perhaps she wants to practice in case she has to crash land in the jungle and survive on bugs until rescued.

Talking of This Morning - I was interested to note today that they changed the opening credits to include all sorts of Halloween themed additions alongside Phil and Holly.

Yet for the past year or more they have never bothered to once change them on the many regular occasions when Eamonn and Ruth are hosting - like every Friday, all Summer and many other weeks when Phil and Holly are off.

Yet Phil and Holly are on them every day even in the long weeks when they are not doing the show.

It is something I have mentioned before as it really looks very much like ITV having to show them two off and basically not caring about the other main presenters who work not vastly less than they do over the course of a full year.

But if they can make such changes just for Halloween there is zero excuse from ITV for not doing a separate opening for Eamonn and Ruth.

No other show gets slagged off and called names. We don't talk about ..
