Quick! ITV has an audience on Tuesday - then watch it plummet back down under 2m next week

The above is a good rating, especially when its build up from under 2m from the 7.30pm programme.

But ITV repeating MM just tires out the latter. Leave rpt's like this to ITV3.

Ray do you have access to Morecambe and Wise's ratings over the years on BBC1 and ITV?

Excellent rating. BBC Two never fails to make a real impact with these stripped nature formats.

Coped well with the increased competition from ITV and at least got the better of Married at First Sight. Tricky night again with Champions League football to contend with as well.

But deserved more. An excellent episode with a really interesting couple.

I have quite a few! Bear with and I'll post them. Because they come from JICTAR they are lower than often quoted, particularly with the Christmas shows as we've already seen.

I bet a Midsomer Murders repeat does better than most of the factual ITV put there. Factual opposite soaps is why primetime schedules are in the crapper. Soap on ITV, factual on BBC1. Soap on BBC1, factual on ITV.

Look at those old ratings with fewer soaps on and other programmes around matching or beating them in the ratings. Primetime weeknight TV on BBC1 & ITV is dying a slow death and this is why!

Looks like The Yorkshire Vet took a hit, as did Holby City, down on last weeks 4.6m.

A MM rpt will do above 2.1m in that Tuesday slot.

I hope Lygo invests more in the slots oposite EE and HC. Look at POG dogs. There they found a bit hit (when EE was still pulling in 7m+), and yet they haven't really tried to find the next hit.

Wonder what Man City v Barca got? Surely BT must have finally posted a respectable UCL rating.

ITV added about 2m week-on-week. That's going to have some effect across the board.

POG Dogs became a hit when EastEnders was during a phase where it was absolute toilet. It has never looked back. Half decent factual can get 4/5m against a soap. I wish BBC1 did more opposite Emmerdale than subject us to The One Show.

Those are your choices at 7pm on weeknight. Emmerdale doing budget blockbusters every few weeks or American celebs plugging stuff and looking confused by reports on ladybirds on The One Show.

There is no variety anymore!

Thanks Ray.

Your Face Says It All? That rating says it all! Hasn't really worked has it? A decent night for Channel 5, ITV being higher between 8-10pm as well as Arctic Live on BBC2 dented it.

More crap from ITV2. Seriously, why do they bother with these Joey Essex programmes?

He was thoroughly exposed on I'm A Celebrity. Pretending to be thick badly then meant despite being favourite to win he could only finish 4th.

Move on already and promote some worthwhile talent. The comedy pilots airing over the next three nights could be a step in the right direction.

1.27m (6.6%) for a repeat of Victorian Bakers. Broadcast app only includes programmes starting between 7pm and 11pm.
As for M&W, I'll see what Lewie has got and post anything extra if I have it.

Love reading the old ratings, I also shuddered at Saville.

As for last night, what I expected for everything really. Good for Arctic Live.

Great stuff! Thanks Ray.

Would love to see the ratings for Two Of A Kind if you have them. That was the show that put Morecambe and Wise on the map.

There you are Cylon, fill your boots.

Ray, if there are any that incorrect please correct them!

I've put them only in years and not series but you get the idea of how they rated.

But then we can say why doesn't BBC2, C4, C5 and Sky provide alternatives at 7?

Re: the Radio Times Netflix offer discussed a few days ago. Fair to say this promotion could not have been more poorly thought out.

Firstly, you are only supposed to be able to redeem one code per account. This is apparently not the case, so there are reports of codes being stacked and several months of free Netflix redeemed.

But worse than that, the codes are not sealed within the magazines and so people are actually going into supermarkets, flicking through to the relevant part and effectively stealing the codes.

They do! BBC Two in particular schedules some excellent programmes there on occasions.

The idea of it ever being a choice between just BBC One and ITV is a very dated view. Thankfully, I don't think there are anywhere near as many viewers out there that think like this as there used to be.

That was kind of my point.

I like the Sky At Night on BBC2, but can't see of anything else that tempts me.

You'd have that choice on the other channels as well.as BBC1 and ITV. In effect all other channels are putting factual opposite Emmerdale. That's dull. No quizzes or sitcoms.
