I imagine Watchdog won the slot. I suspected viewers would prefer something familiar to something new.

This Missing did fine without GBBO lead out, but it shouldn't be too much comp for IAC this time.

That looks like a decent start. Didn't quite win the slot but a solid number. If it can hold close to that they should definitely do more. In a couple of weeks time it'll be sandwiched between Corrie and I'm a Celebrity which might help a bit.

Thanks

Not too bad, but ITV still playing second fiddle to BBC1. Time will tell whether its a keeper or a dud.

You can't say it didn't have a good timeslot. No Bake Off to face and after Coronation Street. Just proves that it's not just about the competition but the extra viewers successful programmes can bring in.

Look at that rating for take it away and that's without plus1.
Its an amazing programme and very insightful.

This Time Next Year was shockingly good. I really am old as those stories got to me; Twitter was in tears over the guy with the stammer. It was actually trending in America but that was just Americans not realising it was a new show and were tweeting what they'll be #Thistimenextyear.

American networks are going to fight for the rights to it. Imagine if Oprah presented it.”

4.2m and 3.9m then. Both channels will be pleased. TTNY should push to 4.5m, especially when it gets the IAC viewers flicking over. ITV might just be running late in two weeks time. Both of these should top 5m consolidated.

Thanks Ray

As Sunbeam said,. Watchdog already has an audience of around 3/4m. Lots of viewers around in the Autumn so if This Time Next Year isn't appealing to them it's not down to Watchdog. The Missing held up well but is down on series 1. Arctic Live is a hit for BBC2 and a lone bright spot for the channel last night. Can't Pay We Take It Away continues to do well for Channel 5.

Superb once again.

Oddly there was no preview for next week's episode, but looks like it's another special of some description. Hopefully not planning to sneak in a repackaged repeat.

This did better than I thought it would. ITV will do more if it can hold around this level.

#BTAG with @jessemcclure rises this week to 134k/0.66% (inc. +1) (aligned with benchmark) @QuestTV http://overnights.tv
Last week's overnight rating for Salvage Hunters was 322,600 (1.5%) inc. +1.

It's the sort of warm TV Lygo seems to want more of, so you'd think he'd be keen to bring it back as long as the audience holds steady, even though it was commissioned by the old team.

I think it'll hold up well enough. It seems to have gone down pretty well and Davina is probably one of the more popular presenters around which will help.

Davina and the Surprise Surprise vibe to it would have turned me right off. I watched because I was curious and found it far more uplifting and even inspiring than I expected. Got to admit, Davina was good.

When people are going as far as saying it's the best thing they've seen on tv in ages, you'd be mad not to back it. TV needs to stop expecting overnight success. Even GBBO took years to reach 7m.

People? What people? When did we get to the point where a straw poll among the drunken down the pub (or Twitter as it's better known) was elevated to the status of God-like augury?

Is E4 behaving a bit strange? the showed 4 episodes of Empire and then stopped, 3 episodes of Scream Queens at 10 pm then midnight this week and its vanished completely next week, that on top of moving Big nang Theory to wednesdays the schedulers seem to have gone a bit crazy.
