There are at least two people in my household, including myself, who don't watch Antiques Roadshow but will be watching Planet Earth. I can also envisage that there is a young audience out there who are not into X Factor but don't choose Antiques Roadshow as their alternate viewing yet will be interested in Planet Earth.

Well to be fair to ADP,it might not be so crazy. A good lead-in or lead-out can be a springboard, as we saw with Ninja Warrior coming before BGT. The initial two minutes of any programming may only be an introduction anyway, which stays the same eachw week for many of these programmes.

I'm not sure if I missed it, but did we get a rating for The Level last night?

Because it helps to kill off The X Factor which is "very very weak" and is the number one priority in ADP's eyes.

And that's where the potential viewers could come from. I don't watch Antiques Roadshow but will definitely watch Planet Earth 2. We could see q scenario where X Factor is hardly affected by Planet Earth 2 while the latter gets a decent audience larger than Antiques Roadshow. We'll know on Monday morning. Place your bets!

I think BGT, Strictly and X Factor can all deliver the goods on a good day. Strictly's movies week and X Factor's Fright Night were good shows.

I can't see Strictly getting 10m on Bonfire Night and also with rugby on BBC2, X Factor might be dented by the fireworks too.

BBC1 romps home winning every slot on Sunday. Factual series like Planet Earth doesn't com around every day, but then again AR does and that can nearly top 6m.

I don't watch AR but I'll series link PE because it's rare tv. I don't watch any tv live but if I did I'd watch PE because you can ffwd the adverts on XF and the recaps. I'd be surprised if XF beat PE - certainly not episode 1. By the end of the month XF should be winning the overnight though PE will consolidate to up to 8m.

Next week needs to start to see the tick up for XF. There's no real clash and from Sunday it gets IAC help. The competition also gets down to the business end and it won't be hurt by having new Xmas adverts.

Certainly all that talk of XF not attracting big name guests is gone what with Bruno Mars and Robbie Williams doing performances. XF acts are also dominating the charts; always nice to see British music acts having success.

That vignette before Ed Balls' dance where he turned in to Oliver Hardy... Cheese and rice! stuff like that is bad. Seeing people walk through a horror house on XF last week was weak too.

Loved seeing the Chasers answering the questions for money on Tipping Point tonight. They got a lot wrong surprisingly. Shows what pressure does. And well done itv for not only having same-sex contestants on a dating show, but also not making a big deal about it. Progress.

My excuse? I don't need one as I'm not the one posting made up ratings, you are.

I see you're new on DS. Are you in fact the writer of Citizen Khan? Because you're the only person we ever see claiming it's a success. 13% share for a prime time BBC 1 sitcom 'not a flop'. You should write comedy yourself with lines like that

We're supposed to get them on Wednesday 23rd November (for 17th - 30th December), but the schedules for 19th -25th November were finalised yesterday, yet Digiguide still only has provisional schedules for that week, and in the case of BBC One, they're not even the correct provisionals, They're older ones.

Anyone for a listings magazine?

I think it is undeniable that Citizen Khan does appeal to more of a diversified audience which a lot of programmes don't on bbc1 as seen by an article by the guardian someone posted on here last month. I personally do find Citizen Khan hilarious but did find this opening episode not as good so far as last series.

Not sure about MOTD on Jan 1st. Reckon they'll move it to BBC2 as it's MOTD2 and not a normal Sunday if indeed they show it at all. There would be another prog on Jan 2 so who knows?

XF and SCD were strong tonight. Really enjoyed both shows. I think they will have good ratings. I expect X Factor to build to 6m again and SCD a series high. I think Blackpool will make 11m.

Or

In real life are watching The One Show, really do go out as it's Friday, and then watch, catch up, IPlayer, recording etc.

You have to join SCD results by about 7.50 to be safe to see the result, those who really want the result only may read the DS spoiler thread. The last 2/3 minutes is titles and the celebrities talking over the titles.

A 7.58 prompt finish and jump into PE2 will hook the floaters who may have missed the publicity and are in automatic pilot on their remotes.

Did you see the ITV announcement for this programme actually said " The Fall", may improve the ratings.

I think X Factor will be slightly down on last week.

I'm also not convinced PE will do that much damage to the XF results, as it's mainly of interest to the older audience (like Antiques Roadshow was). As I've said before, some people will sit down in front of BBC One and watch it all evening regardless of what's on.

I'm A Celeb should do well, it's been promoted heavily by ITV and has had the usual press attention. Strangely, IAC seems to avoid the negative press that SCD and XF gets.

The suggestion that the only celebrity worth watching was a little known one from a BBC show, and that the budget had been blown there made me chuckle, when names like Larry Lamb, Carol Vordeman and Nigel Farage have all been tipped to go in!

Isn't that describing viewers watching BBC1 on a Sunday?

Planet earth isn't just for the older audience, I've seen a lot of younger people talking about it on social media
