Thanks. Probably around 3m all in. Not great, it's dipped through the run.

Hello itv - remember when you had the top wildlife show in the UK? As Geldof might say, spend some bleeping money.

XF lost no viewers which is pretty amazing. I can only assume that's because it was a result show and over two million watched after 9pm. Many of them will be like me and only saw half of it so they could see the inevitable result. I just count as half a viewer then - I'll watch Robbie and the sing off tonight.

I'm looking forward to watching PE2 later this week. Sounds like it needs to be watched on the projector screen.

Just need to find a way of explaining to erindoors that, having stayed up until 5AM this morning watching Sunday Night Football, I need to spend this evening watching the whole game again.

BIB - I just caught up with the first episode of Series 2 last night and I'm afraid I would say that drop in ratings doesn't surprise me at all.

Humans seems to have fallen into the trap that so many genre shows lurch headlong into - it becomes obsessed with itself and its own mythology. What made the first series so clever was that it cleverly positioned itself as an alternative near-future, with the synths in place in mostly recognisable environments, and played the rebel group against that.

The family are still there in Series 2, but next to nothing happened to them - and instead we had action played out in Berlin, Bolivia, San Francisco and assorted locations in the UK, with characters who just seemed like plot devices. It was too disparate and lacked any real emotional focus. I'm sure it'll maintain a solid rating for a cult show - but it seems to have lost its ambition and appetite to be anything beyond that. Which is a shame.

That 9.2M! Planet Earth 2 rating. Has to be a candidate for Rating of the Year! I have to say the two trailers they ran for it were stunning. David Attenborough is a broadcasting talent the likes of which we will never see again. His name alone brings bums to seats. It is fantastic when a brilliantly made and produced show gets the ratings it deserves.

What…a…shock!

3m for Tut is poor for a finale on such a massively watched night. I wonder if XF catch-up and +1 hurt it. Poldark did well to rise though I wonder if these were catch-up viewers watching live after PE 2.

A golf clap for Magician which again received good social media buzz and somehow scored 3m against SCD. More impressive is seeing its share of over 13%. You wonder what it could do in a different slot. It's a catch-up show with no reason to watch live.

I don't doubt The Getaway Car would be less, but these are flops and are aimed mostly towards a younger audience and so wouldn't skew similarly to SCD bulk audience.”

Late here for this I know

So in your view people are going to watch 50 minutes of a programme just because they liked the news before it and strictly after it, I know no such people and I suspect neither does anyone else.

For several years from 2010 ITV won 8-10pm with X Factor/Downton then X Factor/I'm A Celebrity up to December. X Factor losing volume has hurt them. Looking at old ratings reports 8pm was considered the best spot on the night with more viewers around. X Factor was getting 11/12/13m opposite Antiques Roadshow. X Factor's problem is itself ran her than the competition.

Have to agree about Survival, think it was one of the worst decision ITV made in the early 2000s to close the Anglia brand. At one time it was the main wildlife brand on TV,and they threw it away.

Be interesting to see the live/VOSDAL figures. The share for PE2 shows 25.56m watching 8-9pm programmes, before 2am.

The 9pm hour drops to 21.9m. Indicates a lot of double viewings.

ITV held up nightly well against massive opposition from BBC One here, they'll be pleased with that and the XF rating is good- Looks like people aren't really bothering with Saturday night live and just seeing who goes out though.

And Planet Earth 2, I mean wow, a stonker of a rating but it had massive buzz so I'm not surprised- Gonna catch up with it later and I think it'll add a bit on time shift- 11m official not out of the question

BBC One has had a lot of success this Autumn with three of the biggest shows of the year all pulling in massive figures and everything else seeming pretty strong

Thanks Score. The two earlier shows are higher than I thought they would be, but I suspect both will drop quite a few viewers next week.

Tat finished with a similar rating to last week. Let's face it, many on here (including me) thought it would launch with 3-.3.5m, so its done it better than first thought.

But overall, ITV night pales in comparison to BBC1. The BBC can just put together a schedule so well, and is helped when they have strong shows already in the schedule to support the new programming.

ITV's Autumn looked strong, but the BBC has again, taken the mat from underneath ITV's feet, and it seems the BBC has had another good Autumn and I suspect, will have another good Winter and Christmas.

Huge night for BBC 1. Attenbourgh really puts bums on seats, he's extraordinary.

Next Sunday should be a blockbuster ratings wise with IAC returning on top of SCD, PE2 and X Factor.

If IAC returns well and PEII rises, could we see 3 10m+ ratings on one night?

I certainly hope so.

Brilliant stuff for Planet Earth II - I thought it might manage Frozen Planet numbers, but that's another level. Obviously Attenborough is a big draw, but I think the Planet Earth brand itself is incredibly powerful too.

Credit also to the schedulers (they don't usually get any round here!) - Sunday at 8 was a bold and inspired choice. Great lead in, family-friendly slot and very little crossover with XF. Kudos, and I reckon is responsible for a million or two of that number.
