Was it ever meant to be returning? Was it a self contained storyline? Are viewers expecting a second series?

Some stuff can exist as one series only and it doesn't mean there will be no drama next Summer, how on earth have you come to that conclusion?

Is that rating for The X Factor results show on Sunday 30th October correct? It says 5.39m including +1. It was over 6m in overnight ratings. That doesn't look right to me.

So The Apprentice has now gone from adding 1.8m to pretty much 2m. Phenomenal!

XF hit 7m- didn't think it would but still simply not good enough.

No HD included. Seems to be the same for all of ITV's Sunday shows. Tutankhamun's rating is wrong too.

Fantastic for GBBO, Strictly, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and The Apprentice.

Middling for Cold Feet, Poldark, EastEnders and The Missing.

Disappointing for The X Factor and Humans.

On Brief Encounters, the ratings were decent and they could have justified a renewal, but equally they weren't that amazing for the axe to be completely unjustified. It was similar to Home Fires, low 4s in the overnights, mid 5s in the officials. Decent but unspectacular. There was a case for bringing it back as for Summer they were good numbers, but there's a new team in place and Polly Hill will have lots of new ideas she wants to get on the schedule with limited slots and funding, so a borderline show like Brief Encounters was perhaps always likely to go.

Of course it doesn't mean there will be no Summer drama next year (with no international football I'd definitely expect some) but it'll just be different drama to this year.

Because Citizen Khan faces Corrie people will say it's a decent rating. But it gets roughly 3m everywhere it's put. Rubbish ratings for a rubbish sitcom.

I have to say that The Fall has done very well. Good to see the Friday episode end up over 3m seeing as it wasn't networked across BBC2. Decent for Humans but it is now in a very competitive timeslot. Autumnwatch did well for BBC2 with 2 editions over 3m and Great British Menu and Strictly: It Takes Two getting several 2m ratings that week.

I think it's good enough for renewal, obviously, but I think it's popularity was way over played.

Channel 4 and 5 had awful nights, I think the MTV European Awards should be moved to 5Star next year since they rated terribly for the main channel. Humans took a big hit but it'll timeshift well,

They've rated terribly all three years to be fair. And with a worse lineup this year than the past two, I expected them to be slightly down. It's probably on C5 out of vanity reasons as much as anything, we all know the MTV brand doesn't carry as much weight as it used to.

C4 will be very disappointed with Humans. No doubt about it.
