Anyone know how Wentworth Prison did last week on 5STAR?

Confirmed that The X Factor will return on Saturday 27th August, with episode 2 on Sunday 28th, as the US network that airs it (AXS TV) have confirmed it is launching on there on Sunday 28th and Monday 29th and that all episodes will air 24 hours after the UK (same as the previous 2 years).

Not too surprising as it's the same weekend as the past 3 years, but I did wonder if they'd avoid the Bank Holiday weekend after last year's launch was dented by it, but clearly not.

The article also says its 44 hours across 32 episodes. That seems pretty standard, 32 episodes suggests 2 episodes a week for 16 weeks, so the final should be on Sunday 11th December.

I'm really not sure what to expect this year. Part of me thinks going back to former judges, room auditions etc could help steady the ship (it did in 2013) but then I wonder if it's just too little too late this time and if it'll see another significant drop.

A bank holiday weekend launch again?! They really do not learn nothing do they. It really hit the launch weekend badly last year and now no doubt the same will happen once again and will be harder to build momentum.

Take the BGT final for instance, that landed on bank holiday weekend this year. It was severely dented. Looks like it's starting on an uphill struggle once again. Something it really can't afford this time around.

Roscoe, speaking of X Factor, do you have the +1 inclusive official rating for the 6 December 2015 results show? It was the only one I didn't manage to get!

Very odd request I know, but thanks

I wonder if they've kept it where it is because Strictly is reportedly airing it's launch show on 3rd September? Moving it a week earlier would have seen the first two episodes pitched against the Olympics. Possibly they should have held off until the 10th but that would have been a bit of a squeeze to get through the pre-recorded episodes in time.

I wonder when the 9pm drama (Cold Feet?) will launch? Maybe September 4th?

Excluding +1:

Hollyoaks (E4): 0.35m (2.3%)
That is very low for the first look Hollyoaks. It's lowest E4 rating of the year so far!

Corrie 7.30: 6.63m (39.7%) inc +1
Corrie 8.30: 6.81m (35.4%) inc +1
That seems fairly decent under the circumstances with the hot weather. That share for the first episode is huge compared to normal. I'm hoping this is finally the start of a turnaround.

Don't suppose you have the excluding +1 numbers?

7.27m (28.0%).

I forgot about the Olympics. Definitely best avoiding those. But I'm sure they could have fitted the first episode around Strictly on the 3rd Sept. Isn't Strictly normally 75-mins for the preview show - which if it starts at 7pm, XF could have started at 8.15pm and provided it with the Strictly inheritance as viewers switch channels.

I feel like the premiere of X Factor could have easily hit 8.5m for the launch this year (Nicole, Sharon and Louis being back) but with the bank holiday weekend airing, I think the highest it can potentially get is around 7.9m.

Everything seems to be where I expected. What did Job Interview start with last week? I'm sure that's quite a big drop. And Dog Rescuers has dropped a fair bit from the 1.3-1.4m it was getting last year.

Shame about eastenders it was a good episode last night with the paul and ben story (dam emmerdale clashes)

Big bro is back to normal levels now that the footie and love island is over, are they ending it prematurely yes Probably, could of lasted two more weeks.

Deservedly poor rating for a baffling scheduling decision.

Thanks Ray. I feel bad for The Living and the Dead. Why's it doing poorly? BB is at average levels again. Brexageddon? What channel did that air?

And pitch CBB directly against the start of the Olympic Games?

A head start was vital. And they appear to have assembled a decent cast for a summer series.

So not ouch for EastEnders after all.

Because it doesn't have mainstream appeal. It has no star names and it comes across as worthy but dull and humourless.

If anyone remembers the old ITV schools programme "How We Used To Live", a history drama about, er..... how we used to live - TLATD is exactly like that but with added scary bits.

There's nothing scary in it. Enfield Haunting had some proper scares in it whereas TLATD is somewhat gutless.

I can see X-Factor being the least series watched series ever. Nobody is interested in the show and it's the same tired acts and format each year. It's time it was axed or even banned.

EE - ouch. That's the Emmerdale clashes. It wouldn't hurt for EE to have a Sunday omnibus instead of Bargain Hunt and the usual tired daytime shows.
Well I have to say I'm bored with live television. Might get more interested again come autumn. Went on 3 weeks holiday in June and since I came back have watched very little. In part due to there being nothing on of interest when I scan the schedules. Long gone are the days when it was filler time watching the best of what is on.

I've been watching House box sets and a few movies later in evening.

As for XF it's habit for some folks just like BB. It could be complete shite but they'd still watch. I was luke warm about SCD last year and didn't watch a minute of BBC 2 show. See how this year feels.

8 million + are interested.

But then you knew that already. And "banned"? Are you a fascist dictator?

Anyone got any GMB ratings? Susanna Reid was having another one of her PR accidents today 'accidentally' getting caught eating when the cameras returned to her from another feature. Of the course the 'accident' was picked up on by the tabloids. This could be a sign that the ratings are even worse than normal or perhaps Morgan & Reid are just looking for some press attention because they will be on their holidays soon.
