the TV event of the year
Usain Bolt might have something to say about that, Dancc!

Or Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood!

There's no way Countryfile should've been on BBC One tonight, meanwhile GB winning gold on BBC Two. It's a once in four year event and yet when Murray's playing at Wimbledon schedules are regularly torn up. Quite poor that imo.

Anyone have an idea what will get the post strictly timeslot with no Dr Who? Is it just casualty?
Who Dares Wins. 12 shows were recorded a few weeks ago.

I agree it was a little clumsy but from the sounds of it, Max Whitlock's gold took everyone by surprise and wasn't expected. As it happened, the event had finished by the time they switched from BBC Two to BBC One, meaning that the latter picked up with the post-event analysis and medal ceremony, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Also, to have a straight block of Olympics from 5:30pm through to 10pm on BBC One would no doubt have equally attracted complaints.

I can't see any reason why Countryfile has got such a high status that means it's the only show bar the news, MOTD and EastEnders to keep its BBC1 slot.

Surely they could have aired it on BBC2 or even just taken it off for two weeks like everything else. Songs of Praise was on BBC2.

Looks like a bit of quality has slipped through by accident. Careless of them!
No, more like you actually noticed a bit of quaility on Channel 5 for the first time ever.....

Forget Super Saturday, this is turning into Super Sunday (I hope I haven't spoken too soon).

Well its scheduled directly between episodes of CBB Live evictions. I don't think you can say that, without seeing how it does without this sandwich for a fair evaluation.

You can say it and say it again, come on everyone should be watching this!

We have guaranteed two more Golds and a Silver to come and that's before Andy Murray.

What's BBC Four's biggest ever rating? A very high chance of records being broken today, with such a large chunk of the Golf earlier and the Tennis now.

Will expect a good few million watching BBC4 right now and it being the second most watched channel.

Like spying a whole piece of sweetcorn in a freshly laid stool.

Or are you saying the likes of Carry on Caravanning, Gypsy Kids, Celebrity Botched up Bodies etc look like future award winners?

Are you looking forward to "Celeb Trolls: We're Coming to Get You" and "On Benefits: Costa Del Dole" this week? Both on the same day incidentally....

Obviously feeling sorry for all the OAPs who'd obviously have trouble using their remotes to find BBC Two .

Biggest official rating is 2.12m (inc. HD) for the drama Hattie. Not sure about overnight but I think that may have been broken this week with the Olympics.

I do think the golf and tennis tonight should surpass that.

I think so, certainly in terms of peak and all day share at least.

MOTD2 now moved to BBC2, so Olympics back on BBC1 at 10.30.

Really think BBC4 could have a really massive peak.

...and your problem with this one is what exactly? They didn't hunt you down, did they?

My immediate thought when I read about the programme was that it sounded like a doc BBC Three would have done, and would have passed without any comment at all on here.

A celeb fronted doc about a topical issue is an easy greenlight for any commissioner when the celeb in question knows plenty about the issue at hand, so it looks to be something perfectly worthwhile to me.

Surely BBC 1 will have peaked at over 10m tonight?

BBC1’s coverage of a historic day for @TeamGB at #Rio2016 peaked with 10.4m viewers soon after Max Whitlock clinched his second gold.
