Wow, that is a hell of a Top 10 with not one show on ITV and nothing on that network getting more than 1.9m

The ratings for Olympics each evening have been amazing, obviously helped by how well Team GB are doing

An average of 8.1m is huge over 3 and a half hours
The one that stands out is 2.3m+ for BBC2's morning rerun of the overnight action - in 8th place for the days most watched!

A 29% audience share, if you please.

The power of TeamGB is pulling in the viewers! Plus I think how well we are doing in Rio is encouraging for the BBC and it's bringing people together after the Brexit aftermath.

One thing I dont get looking at Friday, EE had a bad episode yet performed OK, yet had good episodes on Monday and Tuesday, yet did badly!

Actually it would have made sense to rest EE for a couple of weeks rather than put it on BBC2 (the other option) as so many people have difficulty in locating ''2'' on their remote.

Not a single ITV programme in Sunday's Top 10.

Monday's EastEnders was dented by viewers switching to BBC Two for Olympics coverage (I believe swimming / diving was taking place at the time and there was GB interest).

Tuesday's EastEnders was up against the weekly Emmerdale clash.

Fantastic for the Olympic coverage. The bonus for BBC1 being that many viewers are seeing their Autumn drama trails. Virtually no one is seeing any of ITV's.

Not even Corrie is rating over 6m. I think ITV is going to have a hard Autumn to start with, whereas BBC1 will have the upper hand.
Victoria, Cold Feet and DCI Banks coming up I'm a matter of weeks. I think ITV will have a good start this Autumn.

Not a single ITV programme in Sunhday's Top 10.
They should have rested Robot Wars too, under 1m this week.

Not if they're watching the streams or red button. None of this channel switching malarkey that way either! Seriously, BBC - every.single.time

Does anyone think the ITV marathon repeat runs of shows and films now, where bar news and sport it seems everything is a repeat, will hurt ITV next month?

BBC are showing Poldark trailers to 6/8 million, ITV are showing trailers to between 2/5 million.

With viewers staying on the BBC at the moment they have the upper hand on keeping hold of them, but It looks like they are not capitalising on that in the 9 pm slot, post games, which could let those viewers go.

Victoria needs to have a good episode to start or could loose its audience, I assume it will get a Sunday afternoon repeat like Downton, which could take viewers away.

I don't think Top Gear would have gone that low.

Well not the easiest start for Victoria on the Bank Holiday weekend. If its hot we could see some low lives all round and then its down to how many can be bothered to catch up. Word of mouth could be important-it doesn't need any bad reviews.

ITV have been showing autumn season trailers for things like Cold Feet since the Euros, and also during the rest of the summer where they were winning 9pm quite regularly until the olympics.

I'd say a huge amount will hinge on Jenna Coleman's performance. From everything I've seen her in, she's not a actor of great range (unlike Olivia Coleman or Maxine Peake, for instance), so if she can't own that part, ITV could have a fight on its hands. I see that sex is already being used to sell the show in the tabloids … I wonder why?

If it doesn't score, however, it will be easy for ITV to lay the blame at the feet of the show's commissioners Peter Fincham and Steve November … not least because Victoria writer Daisy Goodwin doesn't exactly have an extensive track record in television drama, yet suddenly landed the kind of prestigious gig that would normally go to the likes of Andrew Davies or Sarah Phelps. Perhaps because she was once a colleague (or 'star producer') of Peter Fincham …?

I know this'll be seen as a moan for the sake of a moan, but I'm really not okay with that. It's bad enough that they fill so much of these key bulletins with Olympics news, but to squeeze the Ten down to thirty (presumably twenty minus regional news?) is pretty poor form when there's at least three other channels screening the Olympics at any one time anyway. It is totally needless and achieves nothing apart from weaken the service BBC News provides for a week.

People will point to the BBC News channel being there as if it gives them licence to do whatever they want with the greatly valued slots on BBC One but with all the cutbacks and slot fillers on the 24 hour channel it's far from guaranteed you are going to get live UK news when you want it, so the need for proper bulletins of suitable length on the main channel is very important.

This seemed to happen pretty much all last week as well, 20 mins national, 5 mins regional, 5 mins weather/trailers etc.

Obviously they want to get back to the Olympics action on the main channel as quick as possible, yet still broke off for Countryfile yesterday.

I have to say I think she is great, but that may not entirely because of her acting prowess. Its a big role for her and I hope she pulls it off-but critic reaction can be very harsh and if it doesn't hit the mark she will be in the firing line.

The Chronicles of Nadiya (a two part travel / cookery documentary about the 2015 Bake-Off winner) is starting alongside the new series of The Great British Bake-Off next Wednesday, according to trailers.

BH Weather will be a factor, Jenna Coleman is a fine actor, but some elitist may say she's the sidekick from Doctor Who, Victoria has a week head start but Poldark has a massive build up and maybe better holding off that extra week. ITV1+1 and a Sunday repeat may let viewers watch Poldark.
