Sensational overnight and consolidated ratings for PE2. I expected it to get about 6.5-7m for ep2 not gain 1.4m!

You can have your drama at 7:45. Howard's Way used to be as did Lovejoy and other shows. This idea that shows mustn't start at :45 or even :20 is demolished by SCD on Saturdays.

7:00 SCD
7:45 Try out a new quiz
8:30 Try a new sitcom
9:00 Drama.

ITV
6:30 Emmerdale
7:00 Corrie
7:30 Bullseye
8:00 XF or Heartbeat type
9:00 Drama

Or even..

6:15 Emmerdale
7:00 Corrie
7:45 Family Fortunes
8:30 XF
9:30 Drama.

No reason why the soaps can't have two 45 minute episodes instead of three 30 minutes episodes per week. Free up the schedule a bit and dominate the 7:00 -8;30 slot on some weekdays.

Ratings appear to be delayed. Overnights.tv is only showing up until Sunday.

EDIT: Now showing Monday so they should be out shortly.

Traffic Cops made a successful switch to Channel 5 with 1.34m viewers / 6.0% share, the channel's most watched show of the day.

Not sure if it includes +1 or not.

The Next Great Magician doing okay. H says ITV should be putting The Chase on against Strictly because it would be good for 3m+. Well, Magician is doing that and, as we saw last week, it skewing young. So ITV should be quite happy with it.

Solid start for My Mother And Other Strangers. The audience did drop over the hour but it was getting just under 5m at the end. The reviews haven't been very good, though. However if it can get say 4.2m overnight and 5m consolidated, it might well get a second series because it's from Northern Ireland so it helps the BBC to meet its regional quota. Like Our Girl getting a new series with similar figures because it skewed younger than the average BBC drama.”

I know plenty of folk can't stand magic shows but if you do like them then this is def. worth watching, the "tricks" and illusions are of a high standard, very good and well produced.

Wow 3.1M for University Challenge. That is about 3-500K more than usual. I wonder why the viewer hike? I really like the University Challenge»Only Connect hour. It is so stable as well.

Still around 6m for EE which is okay on a Monday but under 27% share is notable. I still expect them to muster 30-34%.

9.2m for IAC and 40% share at a guess. Remarkable when you consider the dramas in that slot pull in 5m and win the night.
With the cold weather coming later this week, this could be a very good week for IAC.

9.4m for IAC is fantastic for night two. And 435k for the repeat on ITV2 too.

Corrie dropped 400k for episode 2 and Emmerdale 500k ahead of EastEnders.

I'm sure SCD has clashed with the ITV soaps or Corrie at least before and came out convincingly on top.

Thanks Ray. C5 will be delighted to have another 8pm hit capable of mid 1's to go with the likes of Yorkshire Vet and The Dog Rescuers. I remember when anything over 1m at 8pm was a hit for them, but the benchmark is rising through better shows.

Can't believe the final of SAS: Who Dares Wins did less than 870,000 after posting 1.5m last week!

Whilst BBC One may be capable of holding up well against it with the right ammunition, it's the clearest evidence yet of the devastating impact I'm A Celeb can have on the ratings of the smaller channels at times. Looks like Extreme Railways held up rather better, though. But yeah, this is going to be a long few weeks for C4 and C5.

EE tends to get better shares on a Tuesday and sometimes Thursday. Below 30 on a Monday and Friday isn't uncommon but that 26.9% is poor it is normally 28/29%. Although the no. of viewers isn't too shabby.

Wouldn't say a loss of 1.3m viewers is fantastic; shame it couldn't hold up slightly better than that. It lost 6% in share too so it's not as though the people weren't around.

Don't get me wrong - that's a brilliant figure. It's just a shame it lost that many, relatively speaking. Last year it lost 1.1m (9.8m to 8.7m); the year before just 0.6m (10.3m to 9.7m) so it's already below 2014 despite launching with a stronger figure. I suppose the Children in Need concert may have hurt it to an extent?

Interestingly, University Chllenge's rating for the equivalent episode last year was 3m (13.3%); there's something about this week which sees an uplift for it. Excellent figure all the same.

Wasn't the 2014 launch dented slightly by a movie premiere on BBC1 though? Explains the higher night 2 retention. Last night the retention was 88%, last year it was 89%. It did really well, particularly considering the lower Corrie lead in.
