Is it me, or does I'm A Celeb Extra Camp sound absolutely awful for a title? I suppose at least if this series performs badly, they can change it back to the superior Get Me Out of Here Now! without this years poor choices for presenter.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Holby City is a sitting duck.

SCD gets 10m and XF 6m. Let it Shine and TVUK could get 5m each and Dance³ could get 4m on a Sunday. They'd be hits by today's new show standards.

Re Holby - it consolidates to 4.4m because of the River City effect. Without wanting to sound like a Donald, wouldn't Holby be more of a female show and football a male demo? You do wonder why ITV care so much more about Wednesdays than Tuesdays. Maybe they should try a Midsommer on it. Or... XF.

Now to be fair to Holby last night was only episode 6/52 so I guess they're a long way from building to their end of series cliffhanger .....

I'd copy the autumn and throw Dance Dance Dance out against Let It Shine, so it's a case of singing v dancing. Looking at that line up I can't see it doing much though. I think it may skew old so I'm not sure I'd air it opposite Countryfile and Still Open All Hours - it's just asking for problems there.

Would probably be the best bet for both channels. The two hour dramas hold up well against Call the Midwife/9pm drama combination so why not carry on with that? The Voice UK should provide a good established alternative to Countryfile and Still Open All Hours. Ninja Warrior gives Dance Dance Dance a good lead in and Take Me Out isn't sacrificed too late in the schedules considering it skews young.

I think the BBC One schedule writes itself.

BIB Well you know they will have Casualty and Pointless on Saturday, and on Sunday CF and SOAH, so its just a case of sloting in the new shows. They have the audience already waiting there for Pointless.

ITV on the other hand, hasnt really any solid year round hits on either days, other than I'd say Vera on Sunday at 8pm.

In the week ending 6th November The Chase had two entries in the ITV+1 top 10; 300,000 on Thursday and 265,000 on Tuesday. (Programme 10 in the chart, Jonathan Ross, had 259,000).

So the two quizzes about level in the 5pm hour. The Chase probably edging it, especially as Pointless's average will be boosted by the spike it gets at the end of the programme.

The jackpot round at the end is definitely the best part of Pointless. I feel I may be getting just the tiniest, teeny-weeniest bit bored with some of its questions. Still loving The Chase. A real test of general knowledge - or the ability to lucky-guess an answer. Some of those questions in the head-to-heads..... I consider myself quite knowledgeable and yet.... those questions show up massive gaps in my general knowledge. If I went onto the quiz it would be a real toss-up whether I would get back for the final chase. But such a strong format. And comparing now with repeats on Challenge, I feel the programme is better now. It seems so comfortable in its own skin.

I read on the Xmas thread that still open all hours will be screened at 7.30 on Fridays before Xmas, I don't know this is true. They are repeating the Xmas special first on 25th Nov.

It's 8 episodes in total, 5 are on iplayer so far. Actually, I really don't know where they're going to fit Class in, tbh. It's got enough gory moments, the odd bit of swearing and the occasional (actually pretty tame) sex scene to suggest that it'll probably be a post watershed slot so as not to upset the Daily Mail! A 9pm slot is most likely, I'd guess.

Is there any word on the films BBC 1 and ITV have this Christmas? Any one of them have the rights to Frozen? That would do really well on the big day.

I keep forgetting that this is a BBC3 series like Torchwood and not a CBBC series like The Sarah Jane Adventures. I now think it will get a 10.45pm slot on BBC1, which is where quite a few BBC3 shows turn up for the "terrestrial" screening these days.

It was a condition of the BBC Board of Governors in allowing BBC3 to go online only that all its programmes should be repeated on BBC1 or BBC2.

BIB Yes Pointless does get alomst 1m extra viewers in the last 5-10minutes are viewers tune into the news. That surely pushes it over 3m av.? Pointless is fortunte to lead into bigger programmes.

Both do very well and have give the 5pm slot a real competitive edge.

Frozen is going to be a monster. Whoever has that on Christmas Day will have won the nigt already. Its a given I think BBC1 will have it.

I just hope they schedule it well, it shouldn't be on before 5pm, call the midwife Sunday before Xmas or even Xmas eve would probably be really cosy viewing. In fact I think it really fits Xmas eve.

I agree, that looks good to me. A decent slot for everything. The Voice gets a run against older skewing shows and even if it doesn't rate brilliantly it'd be a vast improvement for the slot. Dance would at least have a shot there, I think it'll skew relatively young actually. Judging by the hosts and judges that seems to be what they're going for anyway, only one of them is over 40. I quite like that they've not cast random celebs as judges and have actually gone for qualified people instead. Hosts are an interesting pairing, at less they've not gone for the same old faces like Mulhern. The cast of celebrities isn't great though.

The only thing there that I wouldn't do is use Take Me Out in that early slot. The Six Nations would get in the way and Dance and Ninja would both end by late February so they might as well use Take Me Out at 8.30pm after Takeaway.

I disagree, I don't think they're that similar. Ninja, MM and Take Me Out are not really comparable to talent shows. We don't put Pointless and Lottery quiz with SCD. In the past we had the likes of Big Break, GGame, Bob, Paul Daniels, 321, Blind Date, Game for a Laugh, Price is Right, Noel and You Bet all filling the 6:30 - 9pm block on Saturdays. What we did not used to get was much of that sort of thing on Sundays (Catchphrase barely counts).

I don't think people will watch Ninja or SNT or TMO and think this is more of the 'reality' type of Cowell show. Ninja is like Gladiators and Wipeout.

Little Big Shots isn't that much like a talent show either. If they do it like the NBC version, and I assume they will with Dawn French, it is a mix of BGT, Child's Play and Des O'Connor chat show. It's the sort of show that Des, Cilla or Brucie would have been brilliant in.

I do agree that LIS and LSAD are the same animal as TVUK and Dance³. The BBC shows have the advantage of being on the BBC, the itv shows have the advantage of timing. The Voice is a known format so LIS will seem like the 'not another singing show' and Dance³ is on before LSAD.

Both channels are going to have to do what they used to do and find some strong gameshows and have some dramas on too (Baywatch, 90210, ATeam, Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazard, Manimal, Dr Who, Robin Hood, Merlin, Robin of Sherwood.... can't remember if the likes of TJ Hooker, Airwolf, Magnum, Bergerac and Juliet Bravo were on Saturdays).

Wasn't Hi De Hi, Some Mother's Do Av Em, Allo Allo and other sitcoms shown on Saturdays too?

Providing they still have the Disney contract I think BBC1 will have Frozen, Monsters University, Maleficent and Winter Soldier. No idea about ITV, do they even have any? They already used Despicable Me 2 and The Hobbit 2 earlier in the year, although I bet they'll repeat them. Maybe The Amazing Spider-Man 2 although I doubt it'll rate. Next year will be big for them though as they should have Jurassic World and Spectre.

Agreed. Frozen would be a waste too early in the day - it would pull in huge numbers around 5pm.

Hi De Hi, was on Tuesdays in the first series, then Sundays, then Saturday for the last three seasons. Allo, Allo was a Saturday show but Some Mothers was always midweek.
